Guild Wars 2

I’ve been working on a P2 solo with my Guardian. I can get to alpha fight 2 with not too much trouble (after the abomination). The problem I’m having is that godkitten crystal he puts on me. Basically if I get caught it’s a death sentence. I know it is a telegraphed skill (although the dodge window is fairly short) but if I make just 1 mistake I’m pretty f’ed up. I have also tried using the undead tendrils as rally bots when I down. This helps, but I feel there must be an easier way.

I have been thinking about re-trying it with my mesmer, and using the phantasms as potential crystal distractions (this would also make the golem easier). Would this work or are there any other tips on how to better do the version 2 and 3 fight for alpha. I’m pretty confident in being able to do the 2nd last boss solo, in fact w/o pugs screwing up the bomb aggro it will probably be easier for me, so once I have this done I can finally put CoE 2 to rest for dungeon solo’s.

(Just in case people are wondering, I bring in 3 friends for the laser part, since they are just opening a door for me so I can progress I don’t think this invalidates my solo attempt).

Use spirit weapons? Idk.

You can use stability before he puts the crystal on you to not get caught.

You can teleport out of the crystal as well by using blink on a mesmer or judge’s intervention on a guard. For judge’s intervention just make sure alpha isn’t close to you or target a tendril to teleport to. When he’s right next to you it won’t work.

Does the use of consumable pets help take the crystals? I’ve been considering CoE solo attempts the past week too because Arah soloing is for the most part really easy for me now… except Alphar(d on P2. Jesus christ that boss is awful without reflects.

I’m unsure, but either way you’ll have a long cd to wait for since the new update.

Yeah quite the lousy change. The harpy feather cooldown was a good thing and I think the time of the cooldown they chose was perfect… but what the kitten with the embers, ogre pet whistles and mortar turrets?

You don’t make something go from “overpowered” to nearly useless. That’s just garbage. I see no reasoning behind 30 minutes specifically. Based off of the reasoning they specified, 5-10 minutes would’ve achieved the same outcome.

Also yes I am mad because I have 3 spare stacks of embers and pet whistles in my bank lmao.
