CoE Subject Alpha Path 2 & Arah
Em… many (or even all) pugs group don’t know how subject alpha works. Go with guild/friend, and figure it out. My guild group is doing path 2 and 3 without any problems. 0 deaths at subject alpha, very easy and straight boss.
Actually I like subject alpha coz u need to figure his skills and mechanics. But especially for you:
Path… he got 2 skills: Fire AoE only targets people at range, so if u stay close to him = no AoE
His Ice AoE target all players, but only 1 AoE is doing dmg “in middle”. Also, this “right” AoE always targets same person.
Solution? See who is targeted by “right” AoE* – that person stays in range. Avoiding This AoE + Fire AoE is easy, without vigor and swiftness even, u have plenty of time to do this. Rest of the group stays near boss stacked. They take no dmg (Ice AoE won’t do dmg in middle) – they just stand and deal damage, 0 evades, 0 moving.
His crystal prison targets closes person to him, so it will be dpsed by others in no time.
- - this “right” AoE have different animation then others, u see right away which one is it.
Easy boss. Nerf that? Cmon… he got only TWO (or three on later phases) skills, and thats hard?
Don’t say something is hard, or not designed if never tried to understand boss and mechanics…
COE Boss is fine. Simply stack on him and evade just before the ice crystals explode (For path 2)
If you mess up and get downed aim for a tendril. Too many players these days crying for unnecessary nerfs.
i really dislike your solution of shortening arah^^ i love it, its somewhat challanging and needs a good team.
On arah i think you gave your own solution, either fully experianced group or not, make a group of people you know and do a run, become experianced yourself.
tips i can give are Risen illusionists > mage > elementelist > hunter
and when fighting dominated, always kill the dead eye first and stay clear of the poison by the defiler
and sure i can understand that you find lupicus giganticus hard as a new player to arah but if you do it a few times you should be able to read his attacks and avoid em
staying alive is the key, if you need to heal , run off to one of the opposite walls and lose aggro for a small amount of time.

actually i dont have problem with lupicus giganticus,i think its a good fight. learned strategy pretty quickly and finished path 2.
and i dont mind challenging dungeons, i actually like that. Arah is done great,i just dont like the longevity of it. Path 2 is ok,but path 1 is really too long. didnt try path 3.
the problem is exp players dont want new people in the group and therefore you cannot get exp from it.
if you make it shorter it doesnt mean its gona be less challenging,it just means people are gonna try it more often then not and will give more chances to newcomers.
otherwise you just get one circle of people doing it with others not getting the chance to even play it and learn something.
on another note,Subject alpha is a terribly designed boss with no imagination at all.
just a guy who farts AoE attacks out of nowhere the whole fight.
Ive played most of the dungeons in game and that is the only boss so far that i find extremely pointless. Im not crying for a nerf, i just think its very weak designed boss fight and would love to see it redesigned.
His moves on path 1 where much better designed. Not here when he fills whole room with that awful AoE crap. Rezzing downed players is a nightmare. Ive tried 3 times rezzing one guy at same spot far away from boss but his AoE attacks kept hitting that spot with about 1 sec break in between 2 AoE attacks. Its an awful design.
You’re not understanding his aoe still. On path 2 it’s a ring. The deadly part is the space between the 2 rings surrounding you. If you stand still you’ll only get hit by ice a second later. So if rezzing, the aoe will stack around you and the downed person missing both of you. The ice if its after you will hit, but not bad. But really, if someone’s down they need to hit a tendril it’s the best way to get up rather than risking an inexperienced rezzer.
Also the attacks aren’t out of no where, he alternates between his 2 skills and randomly throws in the crystal. You only need to dodge the ring aoe, and can walk out of his other attacks/aoe. The people with self control that don’t just spam dodge when they see red are the ones who survive. They keep their endurance up for the aoe that needs the dodge.

No you missed the point , that boss can be done in less than 5 min with a pug. it seems you still dont understand dodge & how the boss work.
