CoE path 3 for real ?
He is not impossible to kill. I did all three paths yesterday after the patch. Learn his attacks and know when to dodge.

There is literally one mechanic to not die on alpha… stack melee and dodge 2 seconds after his rings appear. Everything else is minor damage that can be negated through proper boons, heals, and removing the burning condition.
It’s really not that hard.

Its actually a great exercise in teamwork for new players. After you understand how to dodge the AoE, the only difficulty that remains is dealing with getting crystalized. Target the crystal and get everyone to take it down quickly if that person doesn’t have a means of getting out. A downed player should target a tendril to have it focused down to rally.

Guild missions say otherwise.
As usual, I’d say..
Subject alpha is impossible to kill…? Maybe you should learn to dodge in something like AC before complaining on the forums with broken unreadable english. He’s as difficult as he was before, just you were relying on a crutch to pass in him instead of, you know, actually playing the game.
really bad engineer
Lets see how many people again stop doing this path .And i dont to party with the same people every time i want to meet new people.I know how to dodge better than most of you “Pros” here i bet.The reality is now the path sucks and youll see lesser and lesser people doing.I dont want to be a kitten and getting only rearded bots in my party.I want dungeons to be fun not only a few movements on a boss.Personally I dont even need to evade because i have enough blocks. But they reality is that rangers with bow are kittened/staff mages are kittened and i dont want to talk here anymore. The patch did destroy more things than it repaired,

Well technically he’s easier since they lowered his health lol.

I hate how everyones just saying ‘dodge, dodge’ meh meh meh :| its awful, its like before, if you go down just run back as fast as you can. its hard to get people up in AOE circles. like it doesn’t make sense why we shouldnt be able to run back if someone is in combat. its just stupid.
IN MY OPINION
I dont every dungeon to become like CoF path 1 farming. Stupid people forming only Dps warrior parties and kitten. And writetyper can post whatever i want.

IN MY OPINION
Your opinion is that whether you defeat a boss or not should be how far away the waypoint is and how many swiftness/gap closer skills you can give yourself to get back to a fight quicker! Excellent opinion! You’ve totally swung my opinion back towards graveyard zerging!
/sarcasm
It’s horrible. CoF P1 will always be there for you if you’re too inept to use both hands to play the game.
really bad engineer
Staff doesn’t gain damage from being at long range, you can use it all in melee range. Alpha will never be hard :p
Here’s a tip for dodging. The moment you see the red circles, say: Eir has a nice butt. And press dodge. Works everytime.

Imo it’s more like throwing a bunch of kids trying to learn how to swim in the deep end. Not a very good way to teach those new to swimming how to swim together.
Here’s a guide for Subject Alpha. He solos him too.

There are, what, four important attacks Alpha does in his fight?
Earth Spikes – These hurt, and I still don’t quite know the tell for that one. Then again, it’s unlikely to kill you.
Fire Spike – Move out of the circle. Doesn’t even require a dodge.
Ice Spike – If you’re not stacked, you can usually ignore this entirely. If you are stacked, you actually have to dodge. Oh no!
Crystal – Break the crystal before someone dies. AoE ftw. . .
Everything else is negligible. I’ve gone entire fights at range not getting downed and not dodging. This is not an impossible fight, it just requires knowing the mechanics and not failing. Mind you, sometimes you just have a bad run; but the odds of the entire group having a bad fight is pretty low. . .

I actually think this is why Alpha is a good boss design. He has an array of attacks;
must-dodge attacks, must-not-dodge (neglible) attacks, and to a degree, gearcheck attacks.

when you said coe p3 i thought you were going to thank anet on making destroyer faster. Since me and my guild man mode it, our best is killing the destroyer on 2nd rotation… was awesome. Also we beat all 3 paths of coe both today and yesterday. Working as intended for sure.
