CoF Magg aka "THE SUICIDAL"
Magg has the habit of tossing what (judging by the damage it causes) seem to be cotton balls at everything he can reach – and that’s quite some range.
So, there’s (obviously) two solutions:
1) You do as I did when I went there unprepared, in a PUG with noone who’d ever seen this encounter. You more or less clear the cave while keeping the lava from hurting Magg.
2) You exploit it just like everyone else seems to do. I truly hope that this exploit will be removed soon. However, I also hope that the range at which Magg starts to aggro everything is being reduced.
To do the event the way it’s meant to be is, currently, no fun at all. But it’s doable, as I found out the hard (about half an hour and lots of repair-costs?) way.
Had a particularly frustrating time with Magg yesterday. We were already at the red rock having gone through extinguishing those lava/flame circles and avoiding ooze.
thankfully at one point Magg passed the last flame circle and just stood there while we had to fight off the oozes that followed us.
he was only a couple of steps away from the red rock. I thought that once we’re finish with the ooze he’ll come right over, touch the rock and the WP will appear.
Surprise, surprise. Right after the ooze died, Magg turned back and stood right in the lava/flame circle, and died. I was like, “WHATTTT”
I felt sad that an npc was able to make me so angry. I am now reevaluating my life and going through therapy with the loving support of my family.
I don’t usually do pug group, but I run CoF quite often. I simply don’t like the magg part and the rest of CoF is rather easy.
