CoF P2 Magg ritual chamber
The easiest way is to filter out the incompetent fools until you have a core of 7-10 friends who you know well and can rely on not to kitten kitten up.
Yeah but I dont always have enough active friends online that want to do CoF with me so you have to party up with randoms.
I’ve done the old path 2 with some pretty kittened people, and thats saying something. Its gotten worse >.<
You said it yourself, the problem with this event is that players don’t want to focus fire on the assassins that are unbelievably slow.
I’ve seen some pugs suggest that they try to “kite” the mobs and kill the assassins. I don’t see the advantage in this at all, since the most reliable way to get someone up from being downed is through Rallying off of a mob death. If you’re always AoEing, and prioritizing assassins, no one will be defeated and you’ll always protect Magg.

I tried. My friends and I stand infront of magg and AoE and FF the assassins. While the randoms are in their own little world kiting by the lavafall. WTF PEOPLE!!!!!!
tip1 do not party with all casters.. you will need least 1 warrior and preferable a guardian too.
tip2, do not party with anyone below 80,
tip3, use kiters to seperate the mobs from the assassins. with the dpsers atttacking the assassins.
tip4, dont ress anyone directly kill mobs to ress yourself or others.
tip5, dont do p2 and spam p1. much more faster and reliable.

We did it with 2 eles, 2 thieves and a necro. It was pretty easy. No need to kite, just kill the assasins quickly, stealth mag (not sure if that actually works) and use lots of AoE. Cripple and immobilise skills are useful for the assassins. If everyone tweaks their traits to help buff and heal each other this also helps a lot.
Ive not had the problems others seem to be having. I find this part of the dungeon very enjoyable. Much more than the 1 2 2 suicide kite cheat I mean tactic hehe

Glad to read groups that don’t have warriors/guardians are clearing this.
Now I just need to get mine to :P
I was on my engineer yesterday with a FT, I mostly just pushed the mobs away when they got close to mag, isolating the assassin which we focused down, I think we only had 1 warrior.
lv80 Necromancer, all professional skills unlocked, working on the final norn elite skills.

Please don’t tell me that you are right in front of Magg…The assassins spawn at the back of the chamber, why would you wait for them to come close to Magg ? (If that’s what you are doing).
The new setup appears to be one player to “call target” on the assassins. The earlier the call, the faster they die.
The rest will focus fire on assassins. Follow by spamming AOE skills to handle the add-ons, and trying to avoid knockback. The less add-ons on the ground, the easier to spot them assassins.
Another setup I have seen without warriors or guardians is:
One player plays call target, and stand on the large rock.
The rest uses long range weapons and sits on the small rock. The rest will focus fire on assassins.
I just failed this part with my PUG. There was a player who acted like an idiot and obviously didn’t even understand what to do.
Maybe I should not party with people who have under 2k achievement points from now on…
Get a guild with like minded players, untill you do that – you will get magic finders who are compensating to the group via their “uber-pure-paid-tourney-skill level and u are just jealous”.

Achievement points is NOT a measure of intelligence.

Yes yes, same old song I’ve heard everywhere, “achievement points dont mean a thing”, “rank does not matter”, “I saw r5 better than most r40” and bla bla etc…
Yet somehow all low ranked/players with low achievement points are let’s just say not the ones I’d like to have in my party.

Having under 2k achievement points myself (yet having 3 80s) I’d have to say with that attitude I wouldn’t want to be in your party anyway.

Judging by how proud you stated the above I’ve come to the conclusion that having more than one 80 is the true measure of skill and experience now, ok. I think we will all see something like “lf2m ,+5 80’s only.” very soon.

Proud? Not particularly, more giving you an idea of how long I’ve been playing is all.
You have no idea how skilled or not I am at the game, and there isn’t a thing I can say here that would change that. Just as achievement points don’t mean anything either with regards to player competency.
Achievement points can show a little of player’s gaming experience.. Though I admit that there are good players with low achievement point numbers too.
I do give every player a chance. I have never kicked anyone for having too little points.

Achievement points is NOT a measure of intelligence.
You don’t need intelligence for dungeons, you need experience.
Any half brained idiot can do the preset things required to beat events. All events are methodically beaten by specific predefined strategies and setups, not actual on the fly intelligence.
From my experience, people with below 1000 achievement points usually have no experience with alot of dungeons.
I wouldn’t mind if they say so and accept help from teammates but that is usually not the case.

(yes… metrics are stupid, just team with who you find and have some fun… your grinding for useless gear and fake money you know)
