Let me explain why I say this:

Because CoF was so easy to farm, about 7/10 lvl 80 players (rough estimate but there are a lot of them) on my server have one or several items, a few have the full sets.

Now after the fix, what reason would I have to go and try to get a full set of CoF items? People will just assume I got them by using an easy farm method instead of working mykitten off to get them. The “bragging value” if you will, has dropped a lot on these items because of the easy way to farm them.

And that’s basicly what GW2 revolves around: getting cool looking gear that makes people go “wow, he sure spent a lot of time on getting those in that incredibly hard dungeon, he must be a pretty good player”. Now, nobody will think that if they see someone wearing CoF items.

And yes, you could say “it looks good”, but let’s be honest here, part of the whole MMO gear thing is being able to show of your gear.

The only way to fix this would be
a) Turn back the changes, let everyone spend the same time to get certain items.
b) Remove the items from anyone who used the speed farming method.

But let’s be honest here, neither of those options are going to come true.

What are your opinions on this matter?

I think people who like and want the gear will still do the runs. At least the ones that have enough time to do dungeons for tens of hours.

Exactly the reason why the speed clearing was so disappointing. The CoF gear was supposed to be a prestigious set acquired over a long period of time. I refused to speed clear and now everyone and their dog has full CoF. It is a shame, too, because the CoF gear looks awesome.

isnt turning back the accounts of everyone who did this speed clear kinda harsh and hard to do? if anet wanted to make it super hard to get those items, they wouldnt make the dungeon take 20 mins to clear
and also, they never did anything like that with MQSC or UWSC, FOWSC, CoFSC and any others in gw1, i dont care about bragging rights, i just want items with decent stats
