Our team became stranded last night, when attempting to light all the torches to get behind Flamelegion enemy lines. Apparently with this event there is an activation window, in which all players can activate a torch. But the maximum I ever saw activated was 1 of 5 torches, which was of course my own torch. No doubt the rest of my team was trying like crazy to activate the torches on their end, but the counter never got past 1 torch.

On top of that, the enemies in this area respawn way too fast, giving us no time to even properly type instructions to each other. But something was clearly not working correctly. No matter how many torches were lit, the game never reported anymore than my own torch being lit. And of course we were unable to continue the dungeon, because the group was being torn apart by the infinite respawning monsters that kept harassing them throughout this painful process.

This event seems bugged, or at least unreliable and not working as intended from time to time.

There is a 15 sec window were all 5 have to be lit. This event needs to be heavily coordinated, having a voice session will help a lot.

Yeah I was in your team. I wholeheartedly agree… the timing window to complete that small chain is ridiculously low, and having spoken to my guild later on, they said that even with voice chat it was an absolute nightmare.

The respawn rate needs to be decreased or the time window needs to be increased, because as it stands I’m not doing any CoF runs for #3 without any kind of voice chat or pro team.

I don’t bother with path 3 because of this. It’s doable but it’s a pain in the kitten

What you need is a solic tactic and party members capable of executing it.

Everyone clears 2 enemies and leaves 1 alive (prevents respawning). Once done they signal it with “ready”, “r”, etc.
- If you fear your dps is lacking you may weaken the last enemy and tank it (zig-zag to avoid shots).
Leader says “go” when everyone has signaled their readiness.
Everyone clears the last enemy, goes to the torch and signals “clear”, “c”, etc.
Leadery says “light” when everyone has signaled their cleariness.
Everyone lights their torch.

As Hasteo says, when u killed your mobs, you have 15s to lit all of them. The tricks i have done for it is very simple:

Each players need to be near a torch. Each player will kill 2 monster and keep the 3td one with 25/50% hp (pnj will not kill them, because he hit very slow). The 2 others mobs will not respawn until you killed the last one.

When it’s done, everybody have to tell it on chan, or on your vocal. Then, the leader give order for everyone to kill there mob, you ca count like 5s, to let people have the time to do it withe margin, then u start a countdown on the chat or with vocal 3/2/1 lit your torch !

Normaly it should work..well last time i did it, i use this way, good luck.

Also, if you have a Necromancer, you can effectively lower the amount of coordination needed from 5 to 4 torches. A minion can help distract (as it will be invulnerable to hits (it won’t attack either) on the north most torch.

Discovered that by accident yesterday. Was standing up there so I’d only aggro 2 instead of 3 and I was invulnerable.

For this you need a leader which will ensure everyone is ready and make a short countdown. You can also use one of the following tactic to make your job way easier:

  • (easymode) have some ash legion spy kits, go to the torch, use it and wait for a countdown. You’re invisible, this is brainless.
  • kill 2/3 mobs, then retreat/use kit/stealth in order to break aggro on the third (or tank it). Have everyone regen and recharge skills, then go in, kill mob asap and wait for countdown.

Done this path several times with PUGs, no voice chat, just agreeing on a few codes beforehand (r = ready, activate on 1) and it usually works on the first or 2nd try.

My first response would have surely gotten me an infraction so ill say this nice. Its no wonder theres so much whining if this event is the hangup for most groups. It isnt hard. just stand away from the mobs. have someone count to 3, on 3 kill your mobs.. then count to 3 again and everyone click.

I am sooo glad i dont pug this game. The more I read the more the movie Idiocracy seems to be coming true.
