CoF path 1 Legendary Searing Effigy is not bugged. Way to kill him with any team make up.

I, like many others, have thought it was impossible to burn down the Effigy when he has many stacks of regeneration from the crystals, and called the game developers out.
As many of you remember, the developers have said it would not require any specific team make up to complete any of the dungeons. Many believe it to be false, as you need to permanently have poison up, and that requires a thief or a necro for 100% up keep.
FALSE.
I present to you, the Superior Sigil of Doom!Just get all your party members to equip it to a random weapon they can use, and just tell them to keep switching between weapon sets. 100% poison uptime, and this makes killing him WAY easier.
Tried and tested a couple of times in a group make up of 2 warriors and 3 guardians. Dropped him easily every time once we all had that sigil in our alternate weapons.
You’re welcome. I still find it ridiculous you would need a specific item to combat that mechanic though, but at least it is possible now.

I figured I’d pick up a few of these Sigils before they slightly get jacked up.
Thanks for the tip. I’ll pass this along with my party leader whenever we attempt this guy again.
On the other hand, this might be tricky to do if you have Elementalists and Engineers as they do not have the capability to swap weapons. Do attunement switching and toolkit swapping count, respectively?

i’ve been told that ele attunement swapping counts. However I did test the sigil of doom in the mists and it didnt seem to proc when I was changing. I may have done something wrong though.
As for engineers they are 100% unable to proc them.

Elementalists attunement swapping works. It does not show up as a buff but just puts poison on the mob.
Engineer’s kit swapping does not proc these, however.
You also have to be in combat for it to proc.

Whole fight is a random mess of Anets bullkitten….as usual. I’ve killed this guy ONCE with a group made for the fight. 2 guardians dagger ranger elementalist and warrior 2-3 full exotic players…even with that we struggled….key element tho is guardians for Stability (and staying close enough to them that it hits you) Its not enough keeping poison up 100% you must also dps him 100% meaning if he knocks you down that is seconds hes healing while youre crawling on the floor.
I’d accept all this kitten if there was a way too actually call out his abilities so counter measures could be applied but there is none. At random intervals he just slams the floor and everyone gets knocked down. I can’t help but notice that EVERY time this fight gets commented on the forums the group who killed him seems to have 2 or more guardians in them and i get that…..the effects that hit are near instant but with a devastating effect since just loosing 5 seconds of dps is the same as him healing himself back too top health. Might even (although i say this untested) be that he’s killable without poisons as long as you can maintain stability throughout the whole fight, which is doable with 3 guardians in the group.
