Keep calm! It’s not a qq thread!
Just wondering how do you guys do the defend part, my group and me must have been doing something wrong as we can’t clear the waves.

Not sure what team setup you had, I went to CoF for the first time yesterday, we picked 3rd path, and cleared the waves with no problems. We had 4 Soldier class players though, 2 Guardians+ 2 Warriors. I use healing, protection and quite ok damage build, others were DPS. Some people would be downed a few times, but we picked them up immediately, so it went smoothly.

I think that it’s good idea to keep one Guardian by your side, who can sacrifice damage for AoE protection and healing

I have done this path successfully without a Guardian. We had 2 eles (1 damage, 1 support, both staff), necro, thief, and mesmer.

It was very difficult with that comp, but possible. Having a heavy armor class or two around would be recommended.

We found this one fun but challenging (we didn’t wipe on it but we were always kinda strained.) If I had to pick 2 bits of advice, it would be to kill the smoke guys first as that blind is excruciatingly annoying, and use your AoE CCs on the shadowblade guys since they will maul you if they get half a chance.

First wave and second wave are simple. Just fight normally.

Third wave is a bunch of rooted casters. If you are doing well, just go in melee and deal with them quickly. If you need time to recouperate, go to range and just move left right. Their fireballs are slow enough that it’s easily avoidable.

When you are fighting the third wave, keep an eye on the counter at all times. When it hits 2 (4th wave), that’s when you need to look for the smoke lord. This is where you burn all your abilities. Do not get into a long fight against this group. If you clear here in good shape, then the rest is easy.

The entire defend comes down to getting to group 4 in good shape to spike them down.
