He’s not being short-sighted, but realistic. Let’s suppose a normal player only plays through one or two dungeons every day. Which do you think he’ll play after the update? In Cof 1, of course. A normal player will only pick anything that is not cof1 after completing cof 1, and that’s IF they want to complete more than one dungeon path that day.

And the 1/3 gold is only for the first run after that you probably only get the drops from the mobs. Which would make running the same dungeon multiple times far less profitable.

And at this given moment that “normal player” could eat an omnomberry bar to get 80ish silver from the run, so I don’t see how this actually changes anything.

The problem is unless you play “only” 6 minutes a day. You are forced to run other dungeon path.

I kind of perdict arah will only give 3 gold at max. Since if you use the speed run matrix, people really can finish arah in 15-30 minutes depend on the path.

There is still plenty of variables we don’t know yet. At least these came to my mind:

1. Champs (slave driver) don’t drop coin any more but they might drop valuables like crafting materials, which might be actually worth more coin compared to what you get now.

2. We are most likely going to get 1 gold for the first cof1 run but how does dr work here? Is it 0 coin after that all the time or what?

To expand on my cryptic first post ( I’m sorry for that, I was in a hurry ), I meant to say that while yes, CoF p1 will still probably be one of the most farmed dungeons, the changes are meant to put a stop to running that specific path 20 times.

Other people looking to farm gold for more than 15 minutes will probably change dungeon/path.

The min value of 1g and the max value of 3g does not represent the disparity between the min effort to run a dungeon and the mas effort to run a dungeon. If you’re going to give me 1g to run CoF in several minutes, you’re going to have to do better than 3g to get me to run arah.

Also, if you have enough time, maybe you do CoF p1 & 2, then you go to CoE all paths, then you go do AC all paths etc etc

While I agree cof p1 is still gonna be popular, its just not gonna be farmable to the same extent (as far as I know).

Also you’re 45 minute arah statement isn’t complete accurate, with an optimized group and skilled players you can get arah p3 done in like 18 minutes, which would then give you the same g/hour as cof.

We will no longer receive guaranteed silver from dungeon bosses once this update goes live. We’ll also only receive the end gold bonus once per day. I really don’t see why people would want to keep spamming CoF 1 when they could just do it once and move onto other dungeons. It’s not like the drops are that great, molten core/lodestones aren’t even worth that much anymore.

It will be more profitable to do the other quick dungeons. Maybe this will even spark some better pug speed run standards for other dungeons. I imagine a host of new paths will become the new farming meta.

Assiming that each are worth 3g thats 6g in 30 min, or = to running cofP1 with +10% banner, +30% booster and an omnom.

This would force people to have to play other dungeons. Of course the question is will the DR be character based or acct based.
