I wouldn’t say that only warr/thief/guard can do it, but yeah — necro is crap at skips.

My generic advice is to get some Harpy Feathers and spy kits to get a bit of stealth when needed on some of the tougher skips.

All I know about necro is that your one source of swiftness puts you into combat :P Sucks. Someone more knowledgeable about necro will probably have some more profession specific tips.

There is really only 1 tough skip in P1 after the ooze. Ideally you would be running with your team that would include one of the above classes or mes or engi that can offer stealth and/or condi clear. If you end up needing to run by yourself I would recommend getting a boat load of harpy feathers and spy kits for just personal stealth by those mobs. I don’t have a necro so I can’t offer class specific advice, but those consumables make it easy to run this alone on any class.

I’d suggest running the path on say a warrior to learn the run, but you can accomplish all arah trash runs on any class regardless of armour/weapon stats.

Bring a condi cleanse(or 2), bring a speed buff, and use your ranged fears/warhorn 4 to hit the enemies like illusionists. With the update you can now bring a groud targetted blind well to throw into mobs. If you get tricky you can throw the flesh wurm at certain places and teleport up rock faces with its activated skill, remember to use deathshroud as an extra cc as well as a hp pool for when you end up in an aoe. Also skill 2 in deathshroud can be used as a movement skill into mobs, then you can use the fear on staff 5 to stop their attacks, staff 4 is another condi cleanse, staff 3 can chill mobs allowing you to outpace them.

If you can, get swiftness off group members to avoid having to bring spectral walk or using warhorn 5(it will put you in combat slowing down your run and keeping you near enemies for longer).

There are also tricks related to mob pathing, where you can avoid certain mobs to give yourself safe areas to move between, you’ll pick them up as you play, just avoid bringing the vile oozes onto the WP.

Edit: Stealth consumables like feathers/spy kits and swiftness consumables like hylek pots.

It’s possible to make that skip on all classes without engaging in combat if you know it and your class well enough.

If you’re getting chilled it’s because of the elite risen elementalists. If you really have trouble with those elite mobs around the corner after ooze then you can try fearing them right when you approach them, as it will give you a few seconds of safety.

As for the oozes… you won’t get hit by them as long as you have swiftness and don’t stop moving. When you run past the little oozes up top before the crystallines, run along the left side so that they don’t path to the light because it’s really annoying when doing the crystalline entities with a million oozes and elite drakes spewing poison gas everywhere.

For skipping on necromancer, you’d want to take a weapon set with staff and X/Warhorn, since that’s the most help you can give yourself, skipping wise.
For utilities, switch to Well of Power if you expect conditions that could impair you during your skip, if you know it’s a long skip and you can’t keep up swiftness, use signet of the locust, if you need swiftness but you’re sure it will suffice, take spectral walk. If you get swiftness from other sources, you can leave either out imo. Spectral walk also lets you completely negate falling damage if you use it shortly before hitting the ground (jump down > nearly hit the ground > spectral walk > instantly press the button again for spectral recall > falling damage has been reset > land softly on the floor, like a feather)
Other good utilities include well of darkness and the other spectral skills.
As elite I’d either suggest plague or flesh golem (flesh golem because you can technically just let him charge through enemies, giving you some breathing room), though plague is generally more applicable.

As for skipping itself… Well, sadly most ways for a necromancer to get some breathing room/swiftness include going into combat, which is really something you don’t want. You’d pretty much try to run for your life and once you get into combat, you can use your skills to keep some distance, i.e. Reaper’s Mark, Wail of Doom and whatnot. Death Shroud helps with surviving longer in case kitten happens, and so does a more defensively set up build (since you can retrait freely, make use of it!)
Also, sigils of energy are an enormous help and you should invest into them, as they will make your life as necromancer easier in general – especially when pugging.

Other than that, Necromancer is kind of kittened in dungeons, being the class that performs the worst in them. That being said, it doesn’t mean that necromancer can’t do anything; other classes just can do what’s necessary in dungeons better.

I heard this was nerfed in the last patch. Can any of you poor necro lovers confirm/deny?

Yes fall damage avoidance was fixed. You can still use the recall portion of the skill mid air. But the save position must be cast while touching the ground. This means no more jumping from cliffs or double jumps.

If you still cant manage the skips with the advice given here then ask for an ele to drop you an fgs. Or buy an executioner axe (halloween toy) and use some stealth consumables.
