Hey guys. Few days ago i read a post from ColinJohanson stating that consumables can make huge diference in dungeons.
——————————————
We’ll be doing the same with the Gw2 explorable dungeons, our own internal testing teams and alpha test groups learned to beat them using a combination of player skill, synchronous builds, strong use of cross-profession combos, use of cooking/consumable buffs (these make a huge difference!) CJ
——————————————
I’m a cook 400 and i was wondering, what are the best consumables for dungeons, how can i help my team?

We are having a hard time in dungeons and half of my team lose their **** before we can complete it. So we really need some help here.

What do you guys use, and see as a best cooking solution, do you change the type of cons for every dungeon or do you use the same stuff?

I’m a cook as well and haven’t really found any clear oversee-able information in regards to consumables however the type of consumable you use will be very depended on your profession, build and the particular encounter you’re faced with. If it helps though you can have a look over all the level 400ish consumables and what their properties are here:

Ghost pepper poppers can be great for dps, Garlic bread works well for fights that have alot of stuns/knockbacks – and I’m sure that there is some power/vitality food or something along that nature out there as well. I personally use Raspberry Peach bars simply for the additional money.

Keep in mind there are also potions for each respective dungeon that drop or can be bought with tokens that increase your damage against the respective mobs in the dungeon by 10% and allow you to take 10% less damage. That’s the equivilant of ~200+ power for most players, as well as the equivilant of having an additional 10% in your health pool.

Peach pies for health (vit, regen) or omnomberry if you want to splurge.

Something like truffle steak is best for DPS (+100 power and 70 precision. Just dont get the upgraded one, which changes to +200 power for 30 seconds on kill, because its overall worse)

Potions of X Slaying is awesome it can up the damage of everyone by 10% and lower the damage taken by 10% too. I just bought 500 for my HotW farming because I still need more than 1000 tokens despite having the shoulders and the pants and giving potions to the group makes a good diffrence. So yeah potions are worth a godkittenlot and I’m shocked that I was able to buy 500 for 60 silver or so haha.

The potions you get from the chests are fairly useful.

I’m our group’s chef, so I always bring along trays of food for everyone to eat from. But we honestly haven’t run into any dungeon we couldn’t get past just by eating omnomberry or raspberry-peach bars.

@Sebyos
About those potions. Description says that potion ends in an hour, but as soon as you get killed the potion is gone wich is not the case with cooking consumables. Is that a bug or its meant to be that way?
