Crusher and Hunter
Don’t pug, problem solved.
Fight the Crusher right up near the rock where people used to stand to range him. Cycle reflects if you have guardians and mesmers (which you should) to protect from the Hunter. Save condition removals for the immobilize, or pop them for poison if someone needs to heal.
PUGs just need to be led, although if you have too many newcomers to the dungeon that are also running Trash-Tier classes it’s probably not going to be any fun at all.
Killing the Crusher first is stupid.
When the Hunter was dead once, he will completely stop using the poison field and rarely imobilizes. Additionally, he dies when the Crusher dies.
-> Additional time effort: 0 seconds.
Easier and faster, no longer luring the Crusher out of the field.
It is possible to lure the crusher the old way, but it’s really not worth the effort when you can just learn to kill them in their spawn point.
If you really wanted to pull the crusher to the door, you would have to clear the initial room before the door. Then, you’d have to lure the door mobs to die somewhere far from the door without leashing them. It was an interesting experiment, but it’s definitely not worth the effort.

Thanks everyone. Was wondering if I was missing something but apparently not. It seems like a lot of people have starting doing Arah again after taking a long break, at least with the groups I join. I do try to explain about the changes but it takes a while to type it, during which someone is usually running down to pull and then it’s too late. Once even had the whole group except me jump onto that rock to range the Crusher until I told them it didn’t work anymore. I don’t really mind, they all understand when the mob pops up at the gate and we adjust.
Edit: didn’t realize that about the rezzed Hunter. will have to give that a try if we don’t have enough reflection.

Neither do I.
Usually, when I pug it, I end up being the last one standing, so I run to the other room to reset them and allow the group to wp. What happens is the mobs follow me, and we do them in a pre-patch manner, without silver spawning or the crusher rezzing.
Not sure if it’s really working as intended though.

Best way is to crush the crusher and hunt down the hunter!
Considering that those two can be solo’d, I’m pretty sure it should be easier for a group to defeat them. Every group I have been in hasn’t had any issues.

I agree. Unfortunately I haven’t had your luck and almost every group I have pugged since the patch can’t make it past these guys.
I can solo them, but usually my group members ask me to reset or die so they can WP and we can try again. Usually they’ll try 2-3 times then people start leaving.
Mind you, I stopped trying to pug shortly after the patch. Perhaps if I try again I’ll find that players have had a chance to learn the fight.

I too am sick of PuGs following old guides that teach exploits. I now tell them right off the bat that if they kill hunter or pull crusher it will be harder due to rezzing ability. I also warn about standing behind crusher and how hunter immobilize prevents this movement. I tell them to stay by me and use my brown bear, signet of renewal, and healing spring to make sure the party can move around. Beyond that, don’t PUG arah if you can avoid it. Practiced teams make it much more pleasant.
