I was wondering if the dungeon forum gods would answer this:

I read the patch notes, and saw nothing really spectacularly terrible for the elementalist. However, the elementalist forum and the discussion forum is just imploding with how ele is forever destroyed and blah blah….

All I really want to know is, from the dungeon forum gods, are you fine with the ele changes and will you still allow eles in your elite runs? Guess all I care about is whether or not I’ll be kicked from pugs because everyone thinks eles are done. Lol

Neither hammer or FGS has been nerfed so nothing crucial should’ve been changed at all.

I thought ele forum has always been full of QQ and BH, though it’s more over PVP/WVW stuff (but sometimes spills over into PVE)

Good to hear. I love my ele, and no patch has ever broken it, for me anyway. Hated a couple changes, but darn I like Fresh air! (I’m sure that isn’t the best meta anymore, but I like it). Also surprised about the fire great sword not being nerfed. Very very nice!

No class forums are worth reading for PvE purposes. Just come here, we’re the best players in GW2.

This.

First: elementalists main skills for DG running are untouched. QQ’s and changes are (like everything balance-wise in this game) made and thought for spvp.
Second: subforums are at same time better (cause more experienced) and worse (cause biased) than “general” forums for profession skill/trait/balance discussion.
Third: while Eles needs some love, and have some glaring issues…..yes, Elementalists on this boards cry a LOT more than how they should.

I like this forum. Sometimes responses make me sad, but I’m a sensitive care bear.

Then I just go to the Asura forum and smile.

About the only thing that I’ll miss is having an easy 10 target AoE blind – now it’s only 5 targets. The rest of the documented changes won’t really impact me. Fresh air is still fine for PUGs as long as you’re doing good rotations. Zel said the fire staff dps build may have even received a buff of sorts (I haven’t confirmed), but that build isn’t much fun anyway.

You could replace the word “ele” with “living story”, “dungones”, “end game”, “ascended armor”, “fractals”, etc… and it would still be the same point.

Beautiful. Had an amazing Coe run yesterday. I swear it only took 20 minutes, which may not be amazing to the people here, but was a personal best!
