Cut ANet some slack
at least they are making the effort and changes to make this game more friendly for everyone.
give them some slack + time, it’ll get to the point where it’ll still be challenging but rewarding, and less grindy.
I want to give them some slack but the very ovbious and glaring errors that appear each time a patch is pushed out (to stop exploiters/people doing speed runs not to enhance the experience for anyone else involved), it’s clear that a minimal amount of QA was done if any at all.
How did they not test the DR code on the new token setup?
How did they not check to see that new tokens stack with old ones/convert old tokens to new ones?
These are elementrary things that should have been adressed or caught early on in this patches QA.

They have only released maybe 2 patches within the month of this game so people need to stop being extreme and acting as if this has been going on for years. Again people think is such an easy process when it’s not, if all these arm chair quarterbacks think they can do such a better job, then by all means start making games, if not be respectful and patient with ANet while they do their work.
I’m sorry, that does not excuse the lack of QA. The game HAS been in devolpment for years. Before you release a patch you hand it off to QA or load it up on a test realm so that very ovbious bugs and exploits are caught.
Anet is a big company and they already have our money, they don’t need a defence force they have mods.
Well, I have no problems with dungeons. I don’t dthem at the moment. Perhaps, when the system works better. But not at the moment.
I have no trouble with this I can wait, I have other things to to in this game. But I can give ANet feedback, how the dungeon experiance could be improved imo.
No.
The fact is they dont even know what rewards we’re supposed to be getting.
Two threads about borked rewards and the devs in each one give different answers.
“Oh thats out Diminishing Returns system at work.”
“This may be bugged. Please tell us your dungeon, how long it took, and how long ago your last dungeon run was… also what dungeon was that and how long it took.”
How are we supposed to know what we should be getting if no one is telling us? I can cut them slack on bugs and things going wonky on a new game this size, but the lack of clarity on this is incredibly grating.

There’s a sticky without too much detail, but basicly the idea is you should always be getting 60 tokens on your first run on every route. Which is not the case for almost all of us, even if we switch dungeons + characters. Plus the fact that we don’t even get the full reward on the very first route and dungeon we do for the day, and party members that have run together from the start get different rewards for an unknown reason.
Detailed, concrete crystal clear information is exactly what I want.
How does Diminishing Returns work? When does it take affect, and for how long? What dungeons does it affect? ( or at least should)
Does it affect partial/failed runs?
Does it affect the first run if we do it too fast?
How can I report a bug if I’m legitimately hitting the DR system and not know it? Anet will just be inundated with false positives if everyone who feels cheated starts throwing up info.
Remember swtor? Yeah. First time impressions mean everything.
And what reference material do you have to show Arenanet is in fact doing a bad job? You’ve shown no knowledge of programming or you would understand how hard it is to fix bugs, you’ve shown no prior experience with game launches (Google some wow release reviews, the game was virtually unplayable for three months).
Perhaps it is you who needs to be beaten with a virtual stick!
I hosted a Lineage 2 private server (L2J with mix of C# and Java) for 3 months and the #1 thing you have to realize is that your players will always try and actively cheat and exploit every possible opportunity. You may forget to change one setting that allows people to do stupid amounts of damage or get too much money and people will milk it as long as possible and never tell you.

…sigh…not another garbage forum topic.
So you don’t have any meaningful input related to the game?
Only thing you want to do is complain about people who have legitimate complaints about issues?
Only thing you are achieving in doing is creating more noise in a forum that already lacks focus and proper answers.
Thanks for the garbage.
Cheers

Edit: I don’t really want to sound rude, but with all the issues around dungeons, crafting and the whole concept of the game that was supposed to be enjoyable suddenly turning upside down, I doubt things such as “cut them some slack” topics helps much.
Constructive criticism is very crucial to a game maturing overtime.
I see parallels to what happend in SWTOR, where bunch of fanboys came out defending everything and claiming everyday that the server pops were healthy etc.etc. Look where it is now. Don’t just look at your opinion but those of majority of the people posting and you’ll see a trend.
Last but not the least, keep in mind, people who complain about issues get tired of posting about it and end up shutting up and quitting. By trying to be “louder” than the competition you are not only doing a disservice to yourself but also the game as a whole. The fewer the number of people that play a MMO, the worse it’s off.

If anyone here are god-like at programming then give ANet your resume and you can show them how it’s done….if not just be patient and know they will fix it.
My coworkers tell me I am and I did—but I didn’t give the appliction the effort it really deserved (I have a life, after all, and I can’t brush off my kids or current employer) and was ultimately rejected.
But that aside, I make mistakes. Typically broken features result from unforeseen circumstances, not shoddy work.
All things considered, they’re doing (have done) a great job and responding as fast as they responsibly can (rushed fixes are seldom the right ones).

Diminishing return is OK if it actually works.
Diminishing return is OK if you give status indicator in game for people to know.
Think about it. Anet went head over toes to over their sloppy dungeon patches and just ended ripping more holes in the game and griefing players. Do you guys get that diminishing return is NOT OK if you can’t get it to work in two weeks? Please just disable or roll it back so most of us can do our daily dungeon run in peace.
Please refrain from making or posting in topics meant to complain about complainers.
