Daze Over Powered
The bosses in the dredge fractal can be interrupted consistently with normal attacks if you keep him super heated with the lava buckets regardless of defiant.
Daze is affected by defiant.
Daze is affected by Defiant. What you are seeing on the Dredge Fractal boss is a “special” daze they get if they try to self heal while superheated. They will daze themselves and interrupt the heal, it’s not a player skill that does that (btw if they try to heal don’t even try to interrupt them if they are overheated, it’s useless)
As stated above.
Daze does nothing to stop the Dredge Fractal bosses from healing, when they have a stack of Defiant up. Its when the Bosses are superheated that interrupts their own personal heal.
Daze is simply a weak from of Stun and Knockdown, lacking the immobilization parts of the other two. Its susceptible to everything that ignores/breaks the other two, and generally has no advantage over the other two CCs except when on a Mesmer (5x Vulnerability when traited when Dazing a target).
Trying to rip through a stack of Defiant is the key, if you want to interrupt the boss during a mistake where he isn’t superheated. Of course, then you got to tell your allies to not USE Stun/Daze/Knockdown once you clear his Defiant stack so its free to interrupt. Which often isn’t the case with a number of players I’ve met, as they’ll go on plinking their skill without thought.

It’s funny how many fractal players actually don’t have a clue ’bout boss mechanics there. Oh the irony.
Most tend not to know all the little details until after something goes wrong, in which case, the boss not being superheated and then trying to use a daze and it not stopping its heal.
It rather goes hand in hand with learning though experience rather than googling a guide just because you’ve never done it before. You might not get all the mechanics learned for up to a dozen run-throughs if situations don’t turn sour often enough.
