Developers on Guild Wars 2 Endgame (12th July 2012)
Thanks for posting that.
The really sad thing is: the guy on the left is Colin Johanson. That is the same guy who came to this forum, proudly telling us that most of us are not worthy to play his dungeons ! (And btw, we should have expected that, because his elite areas and dungeons in GW1 were only playable for the top 1% too).
He also says (13:19): “The better the game does, the bigger the live-team is that is supporting that stuff”. You would almost think he gets it. But he doesn’t.
The other guy (Eric Flannum (14:50)): "You never fall into a “oh yeah, I expected that”".
Exactly, that describes precisely what I thought after doing my first AC StoryMode dungeon with a few friends ….

Yeah, I saw that vid. Dungeons are NOT for everyone.
I am scared to touch Dungeons. I have yet to enter one, because of my apparent lack of skill, as demonstrated by in-game queries.
In my opinion the dungeons aren’t too hard, one can easily pug the storymode ones. The explorable ones aren’t that hard either, you just need to think a bit more about the builds everyone brings and what to do and what not. Besides, the ‘elite’ areas in GW1 were never only playable for top 1%, most players could do them with pug teams ( Manly FoWSC, Glaiveway etc) …
The dungeons are awesome and are hard to a degree, as the poster above said you just need to think more about how you will tackle things. I use to use only 2 diffrent weapons as an elementalist now I carry one of each set because some bosses are easier to take down with certian skill sets. We redo our sloted traits too for certain bosses. Gear does matter abit more so with def and toughness. toughness is huge life saver. We mostly rey to get over 1k toughness for each person running.. heck we may even make dungeon gear just to make it better. the fights are long and if you mess up your toast
This is a good find.
I was sure I actually recalled them saying something like that and not in an interview 2 years old, but couldn’t find it.
Thanks for posting this.
