Dear players,

I have ran fractals on one of my characters till level 3. Because I wasnt getting any significant rewards, because fractals progression is soulbound and because ascended items are RNG, I gave up on fractals. However alittle research showed that there is quite a significant stat change on these ascended items.

I am a semi casual player. I do aim for BIS but will forgo them if it hinders too much of my RL. Im just need some opinions if i need to start doing these fractals. Are they gamebreaking? Im usually in dungeons, can clear AC, CM, TA, SE, COF with ease, but am in only full exotics.

Unless you plan on running fractals above level 10 (or even higher if you are really good at dodging), no, you definitely do not need ascended gear.

You only need ascended gear for higher level fractals and for a little edge in wvw. For other dungeons, they are not needed at all. Full exotic is exceptionally geared atm.

Technically, the Ascended pieces are stats-wise better than Exotic. The Power/Prec/Crit Dmg ascended pieces (back piece/crystalline band/red ring of death) do have a noticeable difference than the exotic berserker’s pieces. If you’re looking at BiS, then yes you do “need” them. Best of luck getting the stats you want though once you reach 10+.
