The Wiki says that I’ll first encounter the Agony condition at Fractal level 10. The explanation of the effect makes it sound pretty devastating, and gives me the impression that some Agony resistance is vital for surviving it. I’m thinking back to Spectral Agony in GW1 and how impossible it was to handle without infusion.

So, I’ve just finished level 9, and I’ve probably got about 350 relics so far, but no Agony resistance. Is that a problem? Do I need to be revisiting earlier levels to farm more relics to buy some ascended gear? Or is Agony not as crippling as it sounds and I’ll be able to press on for now?

You won’t meet agony at all before lv 10. You only start to face it at 10 and more. However, you defintely can do these without any agony resistance, especially by dodging the agony attacks of the bosses, except Jade Maw for which you cannot do anything but heal yourself to stay alive. You’ll have to farm 10+ daily to have a chance to get ascended ring though

Sorry, I tried to insert “attempting” into the title before “Fractals 10” but had to cut it due to the ridiculous character limit. I’m aware Agony doesn’t appear until level 10. Good to know I can carry on, for now. Perhaps a better question to ask is “at what level does it become necessary to have some Agony resistance?”

it all depends on your skills. my brother got to level 20 without agony resistance and have been doing several 20 dailys without agony resistance. though he die at maw.

from level 10 it is good to have agony resistance, the more you have hte better it is. it gives you and your team survivability. the more resistance everyone have the bigger is the chance at going trough fractals without problems.

Agony resist doesn’t matter until you hit 20 (if you have 5 or none you die automatically at jade maw) agony resist below 20 is “nice” but not necessary for survival (made it to 20 with 0 agony resist, just learn the agony attacks of each boss and how to dodge them).

Hey I did 26 with zero 28 with 5 (finally bought my back) but until that I had no rings or whatsoever because that RNG sux like hell. So I learned all attacks and dodged them… though it is hard at the vulcan fractal to dodge all the arrows…

I reached 31 without agony res. So I guess you can also reach 40+ without agony res as long as you find people who dont mind rezzing you at jade maw and are good at dodging at other bosses.

Considering there is people on their lvl 50+ and they probably get oneshotted by any agony attack, i’d say you can make it to any point without agony as long as you can handle Jade Maw with some “tactics” and certain classes.

I’ve made it up to scale 26 without agony resistance… you need a bit of extra help at the jade maw, but other than that you can avoid agony on the other bosses. It’s not easy though, lol.

Why don’t you buy an ascended back and then infuse it for 250 ectos? :P

Let’s not go there. I would really rather this game not become MapleStory (which I’ve quit for this exact reason).

You can use some cheats too. Rez orb is the legit one.
