With the recent changes, does Ascended Armor still drop from FoTM? Or do we have to craft it now?

I got a armor box from bloom the other day.

If it doesn’t drop for me with the same frequency it did before patch… Nope. Ain’t doing fractals anymore because ascended chest was WHY I did fractals.

I got a pick-any-stat glove box yesterday. They still drop. Whether rates htave changed is hard to say.

the daily box?
the new “fractal/encryption needs a key” box?
from boss directly.

i am confused with the garbage being thrown latelly.

I’ve been getting ascended rings from the daily chests. I haven’t gotten an ascended chest yet, but I’m guessing that’s where they’ll come from.

The encryption boxes don’t seem to give good rewards. I put 30~40g into keys and boxes after reaching fractal mastery 4 to see if it was worth it and ended up 15g short in the end. Now I only open boxes with keys I get for free and sell the rest.

from what ive noticed the drop rates were lowered and they added ascended recipes for breathers thus kinda diluting the drop chance even more.

this is what I am wondering as ascended chests was one of my primary motivations for doing fractals and was, prior to the patch a large part of the overall value (not marketable value but still) of a lvl 50 fractal run. Prior to the launch, lvl 50s had about a 12% chance at armor and 4% chance at a weapon box. Has this drop chance been replaced? I would expect about a 9% chance and 3% chance respectively from 51+ daily fractal chests (3 instances not 4)

Also, if a dev somehow reads this, any chance at changing the almost useless T5 materials in encryptions to T6? it would make these boxes and thus fractals more worthwhile.

Anecdotal evidence from people tracking a rare drop item over the period of less than a weak is bound to provide lots of inaccurate information and it wouldn’t surprise me to see people state that the rate of drop is lower, even if it hadn’t changed.

I think a dev needs to step into this one and set the record straight…

Agreed, but take a moment…
Lets assume the drop rates are still the same for frac boxes.
Lets assume the drop algorithm havent changed.
Now.. they introduced a bunch items on the drop tables (aqua breater, junk items, gold frac skin), THAT technically decreases a change of getting ascended boxes since now its concurring with more items.

Agreed that we need a dev clarification on that.

the old 50 has around 10% from my experience.

If I have to get more AR to get the same reward, i am not sure if I want to play that even though there’s only 1 fractal per level now.
