Dredge FoTm : Ice Ele Boss.
Endure pain doesn’t give you stability.
Agony goes through all invulnerability. Unless you block or evade the attack that gave you the condition in the first place.

not really, mesmer distortion and mirror blade is able to stop the condition
Endure Pain is not invulnerability, it is direct damage immunity. There’s a difference.
Agony is special in lots of ways. The only thing that can prevent the application of Agony is blocking / evading the application. Being invulnerable will not prevent the application of Agony. This means that moves like Distortion work because they result in evasion, and similarly for Blurred Frenzy. This also means that boons like Aegis or skills like Shield Stance can block the application of Agony, but moves like Renewed Focus or Mist Form will not. You can test this by standing in the Cliffside boss’s wells with an invulnerability skill active; you will find yourself getting applications of Agony.
Actually, on Guardian, you can get hit by Agony and then use Renewed Focus to survive the hit. The invulnerability from that particular skill will prevent you from taking damage while it is active.

Invulnerability allows you to not take damage from agony. Endure pain is not an invulnerability. This particular bosses attacks are f’d in the head, the icicle drop goes through blocks and aegis.

When you are in distortion, attacks that normally hit will register as invulnerable. Unless it is a labeling error. Jade Maw’s agony goes through distortion though.
Now, I would assume condition damage ofc goes through this skill and certain agony would. Not a problem. So I have endure pain up, Immediately I go to 100b, and it puts out this Ice Shelf (V shaped) And the shelf not only KD’s me, but HURTS me. So i almost die…
ITT people who don’t even bother reading the OP first. He’s not talking about AGONY hurting him, the boss’ actual attack went through endure pain and did damage to him.
Didn’t realize posting in this thread was this strict. My bad o.O
You shouldn’t take damage from the V shaped attack as it doesn’t apply agony nor any condition as far as I remember but you should still get bumped. Btw, are you sure the endure pain was still active? It only lasts 4s (5s if traited) and this attack is quite long so maybe your endure pain was finished.

It’s interesting. Some Agony can be blocked by invulnerability, as last night I was testing Invulnerability on my Guardian against the Grawl boss, but yet the same exact skill wouldn’t stop Agony against the Cliffside boss. I’m not sure what all the intricacies are yet or if there are certain situations that make it work/not work, but I guess the only safe thing I can say is that evading the attack definitely avoids it. In general that’s my plan of attack. :P
Renewed Focus does stop Agony from the Archdiviner.

Ok well I was new to warrior at the time and didnt understand endure pain totally.
What happened ( I think ) now is.
V Shape Attack Knocks Me Down
Somehow afterward agony gets applied to me and I take damage (But didnt notice the source of the damage)
I assumed the damage was from the V Shape attack since it knocked me down.
It might or might not of been from agony idk.
I see now using endure pain in other areas, that I get knocked down all the time.
Thank you for the clarification on 1. endure pain 2. other invuln skills from other classes
It’s worth noting that the Ice Ele boss has two agony-inflicting attacks:
- His ground-pound, which creates a big frost field, inflicts agony (long wind-up, but he uses it against enemies in melee and oftentimes after the V-attack)
- His ice crash red circle skill that he uses at range on all nearby players

Go eat one with endure pain, check combat log and you’ll see how hard the icicle hits you for. If it doesnt hit you, nothing will show afaik, agony doesnt show on combat log.
To my knowledge, the Icicle (V shape) attack pierces through blocks, aegis, so I will guess that it will still do damage to endure pain. I havent attempted using renewed focus to block it though.
