I’ll first explain what I’m talking about here. The bomb door part of dredge fractal was updated so thieves can no longer invis up to the door and take care of it for the group. If groups wanted to farm the dredge, they always were able to. Anet also added in infinitely spawning dredge very far back in the room to make it unavoidable to fight them. These dredge don’t even drop loot.

When thieves go up to bomb the door, they get revealed as soon as they put the bomb down. Not on bomb explode.

On. Putting. The. Bomb. On. The. Ground.

It doesn’t matter that the bomb hasn’t even gone off yet, it doesn’t matter that even when the bomb does go off, it won’t hit anything.

Seriously, what a horrible change. Was this dungeon not tedius enough that you had to implement this as well? For the love of god if you’re going to make it even worse on the players increase the fraking (get it? cause fractals :P) loot tables.

This change didn’t even do anything to stop my thief from soloing the door. I only need to use 2 weapons and lots of planning to make it work. Don’t even know what this update tried to accomplish. It’s not like anyone was exploiting, they were just using a game mechanic to beat a unique aspect of a dungeon. Only thing you did is instead of taking the door down in 2 runs, I kill it in 5-6ish.

I heard high fives in the dev room when they watched a group got wiped because they didn’t expect the change and then a bunch of awwww’s when they found out you can still solo it.

Seriously, why in the gods’ names do they only put a selective amount of changes in dungeons in patch notes? either put all of them in or don’t put them in there at all. If they want to give everyone a surprise after every patch, I can live with it. But when they say something has changed it kind of implies others haven’t but no. Anet seriously has issues communicating with the player base.

Its not even the only thing they did XD

“Players are your enemies” seems to be anet motto.

More enemies on ascalon….

Also a Group on a spawning points where players are a lot going to die….
Should i explain why its a bad idea to put enemies on spawning points?

Also with dredge and stuff 2 hours fractal are too much!
Most people can t afford o spend 2-3 hours in a row…

On the other hand i seems to have dropped few more rares than usual….but can be the “DR” theory i seems often to drop more after Patches…

GW2 balance:
A PvE player is supposed to avoid a 1-2 second 1 shotting aoe.
A WWW player is considered uncapable of avoiding a 5,75 second aoe for half his health.

Remain unfixed and this is what they work on… doesn’t make sense I agree.

Take a break. There are plenty of games out there that obliterate the gw2 dungeon experience.

They were all fired along with the ones who made/play thief and the ones in charge of keeping the gem store economically balanced.

I dont really see a problem. You can return to lab and start everything again, it’ll take less time than doing the dredge fractal anyway

If you really want a fractal skin/pristine/tokens/money, just run lvl 20, really easy and fast

Fractal weapons drop a lot more often 40+

If that’s your main focus, then faster 20+ runs don’t get you your reward faster

We just don’t want players to grind in Guild Wars 2. No one enjoys that.

players wanting to make the dungeon even more tedius for players 1 level at a time. I don’t see anything wrong with taking advantage of the horrible design decisions of the dredge and using it against them.

I agree, the fractal is terrible expecially past 40.. It becomes very boring and annoying.
Difficulty can be handled somehow but it’s just the amount of HP of bosses in there and quantity of trashes that just makes you sigh each time the screen reveals this fractal -.-
Even if nice dps takes quite a while.

Yeah 4 thieves could work it out but you not always can have them, or anyway, shouldnt’ be an ’’issue’’ considering the intent this game been made on

It’s just frustrating how imbalanced the time spent in this fractal is compared to the rest. Alot of times I’d like to do fractals but then I think “well I’m not sure if I have enough time if we get dredge so screw it”. The fact that they buffed rab and the ice ele and now continue to make small annoying nerfs on this fractal blows my mind, particularly when there are infinite other bugs and imbalances in dungeons and especially fractals. And to add to all that, they really just made thieves an even less desired class for fractals by taking away their only real usefulness. Another spot on decision if their aim was to push the player base away from fractals.

The testers seem really bad at spotting how a change in one part of the game affects other parts of the game. I’m guessing that’s what has happened here. I can’t imagine the designers really want to increase the tedious dredge killing in this most tedious fractal purely to satisfy the designer’s pique when seeing players use skills to solve problems.

did it at 48 two days ago and it took like an hour n a half, what in the kitten are they thinking? You know they have no dungeon designers when the already poorly done, poorly balanced and the most boring fractal got,,,,,,,,, well it got additional enemies YAY, was this supposed to be an improvement? wtf…..

You cannot be serious! What a mindbogglingly ridiculous change to a fractal thats already too long.

Why not just get rid of stealth from the game if they’re just going nerf it wherever it can be used.

Complaining about dredge fractal? It’s still waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than cliffside and grawl as 95% of the trash you kill in them is infinite respawn so you walk out with almost no loot.

No actually dredge is the worst.

Grawl is the sum of all that is wrong with Gw2 (class ad build requirements….that shouldn t exist in the game….you CAN T pass the stage without enough DPS plain and simple and you possibly need also some anti-projectile).

But lets say that if they removed every single exploit 0,1% of current fotm population would be the only to be able to get past that and PUG parties would completely disappear.

everyone has their own opinion but I personally dislike this fractal -it’s not so much the dungeon itself, it’s more the mechanics that the players have to go through from start to finish, I always looks to reroll if we start on this and 90% of the time we restart the fractal run if this pops up as the second fractal in the list.
I’ve lost count on the amount of players that suddenly had to go, leave, quit, wash his hair when this dungeon poped up….
