I have a level 80 warrior, and I have a level 45-ish mesmer, and i’m having fun with that.

I’ve had the game for a while, and haven’t really learned more than the basics or how to play my characters or do any PvE stuff…

You all seem to be nice enough on here, so if you can add me as a student I would appreciate the teaching. I main a guardian, think I understand the class more than most, but not quite expert level. I still need 3 story paths so before I tackle any more explorable paths I will have to finish those with my guild mates. Looking forward to learning more about each profession too. I am a day 1 buyer, I just have never really had anyone to teach me specifics.

I would also like to join as a student. I am on N/A and play a guardian as my main. I think it’s wonderful that there is a group of people that actually want to help people learn to play their classes better, work as a group and just generally learn.

I’m glad others were able to help you get this fixed. For clarification I wanted to explain briefly what the difference was.

“Many bad players asked for mentoring” – When phrased this way mentoring implies the student as the subject because you are referencing the action of mentoring. A student seeks mentoring, a mentor provides it.

“Many bad players asked to be a mentor” – This case refers directly to the player seeking to become a mentor, rather than a student seeking to be taught. This is because you are referring to mentor as a thing, not an action in this sentence. They seek to become the thing, not do the action.

I’m Aki and I play a 8 months old guardian on EU server Desolace. I love my guard so much that I could barely make other alts (except one mesmer).
I am a social person who loves to chat and have fun in game and also help people (probably thats why I love my guard) but I cannot help alot as I’m still a newbie myself.
My friend who is a old GW1 veteran, and taught me all he could, have alot of work in real life and many times he leaves me alone, to bump my head into things all by myself.
Today I reached the conclusion that I badly need a teacher/mentor to help me learn better and avoid developing bad tehniques.
I studied all videos and tactics and ran all dungeons (Arah p1 included) and FOTM personal level of just 13 for now. But no video guide compares with a actual teaching run where you need to experience live and mend tiny mistakes when someone point out what you did wrong at the precise time.
I use Teamspeak and I am fluent in english . I am a very patient person and I learn fast. I always kick myself for mistakes and I take criticism (constuctive one) very well. Sometimes I slip tiny curses at myself with push to talk button pressed (sorry for that)

So, if any kind mentor is availabe on EU, how can I reach him/her? My play time is 6pm-12pm gmt during week and fully on weekends (due to job).

Check the mentor list for an EU mentor, send them mail or a whisper in-game and you can see when they’re available or if they want to organize a date and time. Be sure to tell them which dungeons in particular you are looking for(arah, cm, etc..) and pick up a couple of the relevant slaying potions to give you damage reduction as you learn.

Also make sure you select a mentor willing to teach a playstyle that suits you, if you ask for a zerk meta mentor and bring soldiers, they may be a little bit grumpy.

I’ve got a mesmer, warrior, ele and thief, all appropriately geared w/ meta builds, and am mostly interested in re-learning strategies for Arah, CM and fractals after having not done any of them in a really long time, along with refining my understanding of the classes I play. I would love for someone to teach me both dungeons and fractals! I main a lvl 80 ranger but have just recently come back to the game and have no experience with dungeons or fractals. I’m new to GW2 dungeons, but not new to MMOs or dungeons in general. I don’t think I need a lot of help, but I would like to learn the instances before I try running with a normal dungeon group.

I play almost exclusively in the middle of the night (after 1am EST) so I don’t know which mentors are on at such a time, but my goal is to learn all of the regular dungeons and fractals so anyone who is on and willing is fine by me.
