Happy people get the dungeon tokens they want, and happy people get the gold they want. It’s a really great thing. The only unhappy people are tryhard casual ninja BHBs.

The outcome is usually the solo person getting kicked out of his dungeon by some ninja bhbknights. Sucks, but selling a path without fillers is just asking to get griefed. But hey, a nice way to “control” the path selling, isn’kitten

this thread merged made me facepalm so hard. How is Dungeon Selling and a thread about different Playstyles (play how you want), any related AT ALL?

The “Play how I want” discussion hast nothing to do with dungeon selling/kicking sellers by abusing the lfg system.
I hope that happend by mistake and was not the original intention, otherwise we could really call the moderation as “mod how we want”.

This is probably the funniest thing a mod has ever done on these forums.

Ok, I’m seriously confused a to why my topic about wether playing meta isn’t also playing how you want was merged into a discussion about selling dungeon paths. Because frankly it had absolutely nothing to do with that? at least as far as i was concerned when I created the topic.

LFG is ripe with warriors selling P1 through P4 in Arah for in-game gold. This is nothing new, since it was done with endgame content in GW1 (The Great Destroyer, Shiro Tagachi….) Does anyone see contradiction anywhere to the user agreement in this, since it is for in-game gold and not real world money? Should one or more classes be allowed to do this, considering the objectives the developers have advertised for this game?
This is a case where I hate the game, not the players. Clearly, Arena Net has created a major design flaw in allowing specific classes to roll endgame content, and then sell the coup de grace to other players so they can get credit for work they didn’t do.

I encourage developers to look at this carefully, and fix this to exclude ANY class from taking advantage of an unbalanced means of in-game income, and a ‘taxi’ service for the less courageous players out there.

i see more, mesmer thiefs eles and necros selling p2 than warrior because they use their blink skill to go underwater and i sell p3 + 4 most days on my guardian, i personally see no problem with warrior

As we mentioned previously, Dungeon Sellers and Dungeon Buyers are considered Real Money Traders, which is a violation of the User Agreement.

We recommend you not to do it or purchase.

In the mail I’ve made a clear statement (not to be missed) that I’m speaking of the ingame currency “Gold”. Yes, the answer was given by the same GM as last time…

We always try to alleviate issues with unfulfilled transactions and to reduce scamming and other potential negative outcomes related to player-to-player transactions. Which is the reason why, we do not recommend you to perform or request these type of actions.

However, we will not attempt to uphold private agreements through such means as moving items or gold between accounts.

Am I to state of this it’s not illegal but may result in an account ban if stuff goes wrong? aka scamming??

Basically its ok as long as both partys have a mutual trust agreement. If one screws the other, they can be reported for scamming but Anet won’t restore lost gold or items.

Ok, maybe I shoud have refrained from writing my last sentence because I’m actually aware of that. Which is why I reread every single post of the topics and neither ever even drifted into the direction of the other.

Oh and on a side note: In the PM informing me about the merging, the reason given for it was: “Threads merged”. In what world is “Threads merged” a reason for anything as opposed to a simple restating of the fact that the topics were merged?

People who follow the meta are willing to change as soon as the meta changes. People who are labeled as ‘play how you want’ players are adamant about NOT changing, regardless of any factors that doesn’t revolve around their own stubborn desire to run what they want.

People who follow the meta = Open-minded. Always looking to change their builds to improve and optimize.

‘Play how you want’ = Picks their own builds and refuses to listen to suggestions from people on how to improve their build, regardless of reasoning or mathematical proofs.

People who follow the meta: single mindedly follow the path of min-maxing, refusing to listen to others about what might make the game more enjoyable.

play how you want: open minded people who don’t just follow the dogma of min-maxing for efficiency but enjoy the diversity the game has to offer.

And before we go to mathematical proofs again: There has yet to be found a mathematical equation for fun that works for everyone.

As I said, I believe there are different pphilosophies as to what exactly constututes fun in GW2 – yes, I’m hung up on the fun factor because I still refuse the notion to play a game as a hobby if it isn’t fun. I’m single minded like that.
Well, maybe except for the underground fractal. I rarely enjoy that and still slog through it. Maybe I’m at least a bit open minded when it comes to communist mole-people. Shocking as that may be. Anyway, back to topic.

And if those philosophies meet each other, in a pug for example, both sides might suffer.
Maybe I should change the topic as a general call for meta-players and non-meta-players not to play with each other, unless BOTH sides are basolutely sure, that all affected parties aren’t bothered by the other sides playstyle.

lol, it’s the same thing with my guild. The other day, they were putting together a group for P2, and I thought kitten it, much faster than soloing and these guys couldn’t be worse than pugs. They couldn’t make most of the skips so I ended up soloing most of the path anyway, along with alphard and lupi.

Haha. Luckily I left that guild when I transferred servers….

Today I did Arah with some guy who probably put my level of aggressiveness and condescension to shame. When he died at crusher/hunter he was like “well I can solo this when I actually try”, he didn’t dodge the mark detonation at magecrusher that much and he (along with three others) faceplanted at Lupi so I solo’d phase 3.

Sure, I’d probably run with the guy again, but it’s a little reminder to everyone to not try to act too big if you’re just going to faceplant, I mean I’ve had that experience once with a forumer I won’t name (they weren’t kitteny but they complained about pugs on here and they ended up just being a GS camping warrior, lolwut, and there’s another example I won’t go in to), and I’m sure people were tragically disappointed when they did dungeons with me and learnt that I’m actually capable of dying.

Arah though … I’m seriously much happier duo or 3-manning it with like guildies or something rather than pugging, me and guan today had to boot basically the entire team because they aggro’d a mage when we were stacking on the ooze and obviously weren’t experience, and would have just died on Lupicus melee.

Oof, lol. This is why I’m terrified to run with any of the forum sexies. Hehe.

Legal, in fact if the dungeons required any sort of skill, and the rewards reflected this, I bet players could even score a bit of RMT action if their guild was good enough.

The best part is when it boils over into RMT, literally nothing can be done to enforce any rules that prevent against such situations.
