So first time posting but I’ve really wanted to ask this for a while and have seen no one really talk about this.

As far as attaining a precursor, a lot of people recommend using the Mystic Forge, just throwing in rares/exotics till you get lucky. . . but to get the rares or exotics, would anyone recommend using dungeon tokens, possibly from CoF or other fast dungeons to get a bunch of weapons for the forge?

With the CoF dungeon, you can get a exotic staff for 360 carvings I think…which is a lot of tokens but if you already have your armor set then there’s not really any other need for them right?
You can also get a lvl 70 rare armor piece for 30 carvings, which you can then salvage for ectos. This has pretty much been my main way of farming ectos since I get gold from the dungeon runs too. Not sure if this is worth it though…..

TL;DR: Is it a good idea to use dungeon tokens to buy exotics for Mystic forge for precursor and/or salvaging token bought rares for ectos?

The mystic toilet is only good to use when you dont have the rights stats for an incription. I believe it’s soldier , dire , rabid . You get an insciption that cost around 5g when you salavage it . But for the other stats you could try to flush them . I wasted around 10k tokens and didn’t get anything. Zomoros the god of the toilet hates me .

Means you’re on the wrong path. I flushed a lot of greatswords. Got The Chosen after a single pair of rare Shields. Zomoros is allknowing. It knows what legendery is meant for you.

Not receiving precurors obviously means you’re chasing the wrong legendary. :P

nehhh…Twilight so overrated man everyone knows that ….

Omg, where have you been buddy . And yes twilight is overrated but I still need it for troll purposes . I can join a tiny dungeon like CM with my giant norn , flood the screen , and make them rage quit.

I have a 900 second filter, I am not bothered by forums much anymore. Also I am just back from suspension :P.

1. Do activities that give you gold, like dungeon runs.
2. Save.
3. Buy precursor.
4. Save yourself the ridiculousness of the forge and start believing in goodness in the world again.

You could also buy rares and throw them in the mystic forge :p

You have less chances of getting an exotic but they are so much cheaper, specially if you are going for a 2h precursor.

True, but that means you need to do one of the 70+ dungeons? 75+ dungeons? The rares are the level of the dungeon, all the exotics are 80.

That means it only works with CoF, Hotw, Arah, and CoE
