You can post a dungeon run on the finder to just have it removed by public dungeon runners. what the hell were you thinking arena net? mind you after so many posts you also become suppressed and unable to post for a run. AT ALL!

But joking aside — yeah, things are broken all around. Just sit tight and they’ll fix it. Maybe. Possibly. They certainly won’t comment on anything here. Dungeon changes might make it into the patch notes, if we’re lucky.

My question is, what gives players of the Arah run the nerve to demand that other players PAY them (in gold) to run the dungeon with them? Some dude tried to charge me 6 gold (6g) and when i didn’t he straight booted me. The game is free to play, now some kid is charging me? The irony is he couldn’t complete the mission by himself anyway! So in essence we are paying him to allow us to help him do what he cant do alone?

I cant be the only one who thinks this right? Shouldn’t the DEVS step in an warn these extortioners?

You do realize that person was at the final boss, after a successful solo/duo/whatever, and was selling the completed path? That’s why his/her LFG said “Selling pX”?

That player probably soloed the dungeon and posted on lfg to sell the slots before fighting the last boss. So when you want to join a group on the lfg tool you must READ what the add says in order to avoid these problems.

edit: By using the average pug logic, if something makes the run fast and efficient (stacking, boons, zerk gear, melee etc), than it’s an exploit.

You just made me so happy, I can’t express it with words. Thank you so much. Whenever I’m feeling down, I can just hop on these forums and marvel at the astounding levels laziness and entitlement that exists in this world. In combination, these are an incredible sight to behold.

Anet should make a pop-ups with the LFG description in BIG in the middle of the screen when someone try to join a LFG. Then ask the question : Did you read and understand the description????

My expectation is that 5% more ppl will read the description. Well its 5% more ppl, i’ll take it.

For the record, I DID READ!! But because no one talks in complete sentences and only in a form of Short Hand, you don’t know the real deal until you experience it for the first time. Now that I know what “6g” (or variations there of) mean, I don’t go in those runs.

*For all the other comments: These forums exist to ask questions and get a better understanding of the game as a whole. None of you were born with sage knowledge of this game and had to learn also. Sorry about sarcasm and jokes in this forum. The problem is that the dungeon community in GW2 is quite small, and also very hated. The best dungeon guides and builds for all classes are made by the big dungeon speedrun guilds, but still they are called elitists because somehow some players feel inferiorized when a theorycrafter says that clerics or soldiers gear that lots of players like to use is bad for dungeons. So this forum gets lots of posts of people saying that “zerk speedrunners are ruinning the game”, “berserker gear is an exploit”, “dungeon sellers should be banned”, “stacking and skipping are immoral tactics” and so on.

In your post you sounded like another of those trolls that come here talk trash about the “elitist” way to run dungeons.

is generally what we post.

And it’s just silly how many people try to get in and not pay, none of them ever say a thing other than negative things like “that’s ridiculous” “that shouldn’t be allowed” etc.

Sorry but it’s a mutually beneficial interaction with those of us who want to sell and those of us that want to buy. People want Arah tokens to buy their gear/weapons for the look. Arah can take a LONG time, especially if you’re not a well organized group. So those selling are saving the buyers a LOT of time by selling them the path. And in the end while it’s 6g, you get 3g back from the bonus chest as well as some loot, so really you could potentially make money from buying a path, while on average it’s a little under 3g, really not that bad.

If someone tries to charge you and they didn’t post in the LFG saying so… yeah get kittened, tell them off, and leave the group. But generally when people are doing that they’ve posted it in the LFG so you know before joining the group, and they’ve done basically the entire dungeon for you and are just waiting to fill it up to finish.

Sooo…if someone was interested in purchasing one of these arah runs but had not done so before… what would be the procedure/etiquette?

Is there a wait time involved? Do they usually wait for a full party?

What if completion isn’t made? Is there a refund?

Just simple questions like that for anybody who has a minute and the know how.

Just look at the LFG in-game. Most of the time the seller(s) will be at the final boss and will have the people buying the run join the party, enter, then pay. Then you’ll port to the waypoint closest to the end boss and kill it as a group. So, it’s recommended you at least have a general idea as to how the final boss fight works for the path you’re buying. But some sellers might do things slightly differently, so make sure you read the LFG posting.

Obviously, you run the risk of having your money taken and then being kicked out and blocked before getting the reward. That’s not the norm, from what I hear, but it can happen. So, be careful.

Some sellers will just kill the last boss for you. Some, particularly mesmers, will portal you to the boss so you get the champ loot on the kill as well.

Payment is usually expected before the boss kill, once it’s clear where the seller is. I’ve had people refuse to pay me till afterwards, which is fine too.

You usually wait for a full party.

If there’s no completion/some kind of fail because of hate/etc., you’ll get refunded more often than not.

One thing to check on is the status of the path— does the path tell you to kill the final boss, or do something else? If it’s something else, it’s likely that the path was exploited, and you should think twice about purchasing the path from them.

The LFG message should mention selling and a price.

My group expects payment first before we portal you to the last boss with a mesmer, and we will have instructions on where everyone else should go (certain waypoint) to wait for the mesmer. You’ll be able to see our mesmer at the last boss, if you can recognize where that is on the map.

Always wait for a full party, which is why it’s like 5-15 mins instead of just always less than 5 mins =)

Not that it’s happened to us, but we’re not here to rip people off, we’re here for a mutually beneficial exchange of a service for money. If for some reason we were unable to provide the service promised, we’d return the money. We actually don’t accept the money from the mail until we finish just in case, but again, it hasn’t happened yet.

Our goal is simply to get you the credit for the dungeon, we have a mesmer to get you to the last boss if you can follow instructions, and in the end we don’t want anyone to feel ripped off. I am not to that point in this game at all, I just dabble in selling now and then, but in a previous game I was a full on Merc. I had a collection of people who would send me tells asking for dungeons to be run for them. Not that i’m in any hurry to get there, but that’s kinda the goal. I don’t want to screw people over, I want them paying me money to play the game in a way that benefits us both =).
