I kinda like running dungeons. It gives me something to do beyond just playing TP day in and day out…and frankly, I’d desperately like a reason not to log in….only to spend 20mins in-game and then log out. The living story content doesn’t particularly appeal to me because I work a lot IRL, and hate being forced to play new content at a time which is really inconvenient to my work/life schedule.

I’m wondering if there’s been any comment by dev’s recently on their mentioned changes for dungeons being revamped. We got word that this these will take place in 2013, and obviously, a number of months have already passed since the first AC changes and there are quite a few dungeons that still need revamps – but considering how long that took to do AC and iron out the major kinks (the minor kinks still exist), and the shift from permanent dungeons to temporary content (living story dungeons) should I just leave the game now and come back mid 2014?

I know I’m a minority in this. The devs think that the living story content trumps all PvE content in terms of priority, and anyone who speaks out to the short-comings of what the living story means in terms of “game longevity” is simply told to go play something else if they’ve got a problem with it.

This may seem a little jumping-the-gun, but time does move incredibly fast, and with more living story content on the horizon, it looks like 2014 may be the possible date for major changes in dungeons to occur.

All we got was that there would be improvement to the loot tables and a lfg tool but that was many months ago. We haven’t gotten any responses or any additional info about things to come since the dev that posted here went to the living story team. There are probably 10 fractal threads made every month with no response on them.

I know I’m a minority in this. You aren’t in the minority on this. Half my friends list stopped playing and the other half all don’t like the direction the game is going with the ascended gear grind and the limited time filler content + gemshop boxes instead of permanent good and challenging content. I find myself logging in just to talk to few that are left and thinking of things to do but there really aren’t any. Dungeons really need some love especially fractal loot + skin aquistion and arah loot and adding some challenging ones.

Game needs a TON more skins, and new content to achieve them, especially in the form of new and engaging dungeons. Atm it’s gotten quite stale doing the same thing over and over to grind out legendaries because every other skin either has no prestige about it or is ugly/boring.

I’m going to bump this thread, and add my 2 cents worth to what needs to be tweaked on the dungeons. What is it with things like Minor Rune of (insert name here) dropping in a high level dungeon like CoF? I mean seriously, high level dungeons should mean high level loot. Quite honestly I would rather get one decent item out of it all rather than a bunch of blue and green crud. And if the devs are worried about farming, then limit the number of times a dungeon can be run over x amount of time.

I have left this game for quite a few months but few days ago i wanted to log in to play some Fractals with friends. However i was surprised that no one online; i checked Gw2lfg and found out the number of LFG’s reduced drastically. Most people go for CoF and few for FotM and almost No one for other dugeons. I haven’t read some patch notes. This is a bit off-topic but anyone minds explaining to me what happened? Did they nerf Dugeon, esp FotM ? Thanks in advance!

The loot table change they said many months ago that was in the works never happened so it’s pointless to run anything but CoF path 1 which takes like 6-10min. CoE 1 and 3 is the next best thing, but you must have a speed clear group consisting of the right professions and capable people to do it. The rest really aren’t worthwhile.

They changed AC a bit and pugs can’t handle it as well so I’d imagine there are less posts.

They had a stealth nerf to FotM loot tables. This made this dungeon pretty much a waste of time and we are all pretty much baffled as to why they purposely broke the loot. You will see very few posts for the 40s since you get the same loot as 1 it seems. You just get a better chance at a skin but pugging it can be brutal compared to 30s and below so it’s not worth it.

Honestly, I’d suggest holding off and coming back later. Not much is going on here now or probably the near future.

It would be nice of dungeons were something that people wanted to do often, but as they stand now they seem to be ghost towns, with the exception of CoF 1, and occasionally Arah.

My guess is this: They noticed that every Charr and his arctodus was running fotm and not touching the other dungeons. So, instead of just buffing the loot of other dungeons to make them as worthwhile, they just nerfed fotm loot into the ground and are relying on the poor sods who really want a skin to be all that’s left slaving away in there.
