What dungeon would you suggest a new player to start in, and what level?

I have no clue where any of these dungeons are. Right now I am in the human area, finding the closest dungeon to that would be very helpful!

It depends on your current level. If you are under 30 then you just have to do hearts/events/crafting to get that level up to at least 30 before anyone will let you in their group.

A benefactor will eventually send you a letter telling you that a new dungeon is available and it will be placed on your map from there you just have to walk to the area to get the WP and you can start that dungeon.

I would suggest that a new player not start in any dungeons at all. The dungeons, while spaced out evenly starting from level 30 onwards, are not really designed to be easy for a new player still levelling up. The difficulty curve in going from open world content in level 30 zones to AC (the first dungeon) is extremely steep. You don’t necessarily have to wait to be level 80, but I’d suggest at least 55-60 or later, so that you have more familiarity with your class, more utility skills unlocked (elites especially), more powerful traits available, and gear that has 3 stats.

Surprisingly, I found AC story to be more difficult than most of the other story dungeons. Did at 30ish, difficulty was huge from personal story/open world.

CoF is easy to start off with if you are at the right level.

@Broadicea: Your elite unlocks at 30.

I’d go with AC story mode. Even if you do end up as dead weight the first run, you get to see what a dungeon run is like, and you know what to prepare for.
