Will there ever be one because I find it difficult to get a group up :/

No! The LFG website is the right place right now i do not want another WoW-LFD tool that will ruin everything has to do with Server Community….The Answer is: No.

Some kind of LFG finder would be fantastic. I want to play the game to have fun. Constantly typing LFG for this dungeon or that is boring and actually discourages me from playing.

it’s much easier to find group by using auto group finder, that why advanced games use this system.
what ruin community, IMO, is use of third website to find group (I find it outdated as minimum); I don’t see how GF can ruin anything, beside you gonna take random guy from map channel anyhow.
hours of spam of LA chat ruins whole game, or you find it fun to type LGF instate of playing?
I guess modern game should use all modern features.
So if it’s not major tech problem, please add tool for dungeon group.

I can’t remember the source, and I’m on a mobile device so I don’t feel like searching, but I remember that it was said by a developer that a group finding feature will be implimented in the future.

Before GW2 I would have considered myself a pve focused player, however I have had a hard time finding groups for dungeons I want to run, and I always pug, instead of spamming map chat until I’m suppressed I just head over to WvW, I don’t have the time to try to find a group.

I have been using gw2lfg for Fractals, but it just feels so wrong that people need to resort to a website for finding a group in a game, the two shouldn’t be apart, enough people use gw2lfg and it really shows that it should be in-game. That’s just how I feel on the matter.

I agree a bit this. I somehow also find that it has a negative impact on the social side of the game. I’m playing a bit of WoW right now, which is the only reference I have to an in-game LFG mechanic, and if people in a random dungeon even ever talk to each other, it is when someone makes a mistake and other people rage at him/her. Oftentimes the only thing you see in chat is a “ty” just before everyone leaves when the last boss dies. I could as well play with a bunch of NPCs.

I don’t really have a good idea for a better alternative at the moment. I know spamming the chat or even using a third party website isn’t a very elegant one, though.

^ I totally agree with this. Also the LFG tool would be VERY useful if someone leaves during the dungeon and then the group has to find replacement.

LFG doesn’t make ppl less chatty. IMHO looking for group for a very long time does.
More time spent looking for group -> more frustration -> more flaming // rage + less chatter.

edit. how the hell would LFG tool harm server community? How?

People rarely talk even when they use gw2lfg.com so it is completely the same if they use 3rd party website or ingame lfg system, they still won’t talk much to each other because there is really no need, unless somebody screws up.

Almost everybody on lvl10+ fractals now knows everything they should do and how to pass each dungeon, so talking and/or giving advices is totally unneeded. And being friendly and talkative to 4 other people who you see first time, and will probably never see after these 40min seems stupid.

I think a LFG system should be implemented, BUT do not ever use the mechanical auto group finding system in wow, that makes people bit too lazy. Something similar to gw2lfg but in official in-game system might actually works

What? An in-game version of what the website does would be fantastic. Anything that keeps me from alt-tabbing from game to find what I need is great for the game.

An in-game dungeon grouper would be great for the game, no more having to post and remove postings on lfg. There is no negatives that come from this.

Anet said they are working on it already but it will take some time to get implemented.

A looking for group finder function is needed.

Using a website for this feels very strange in 2013, a game in guild wars class should have this function long time ago.

Anyway ppl, you think LFG chat will kill GW2 society? … finger to you then since this game’s chat is pretty dead to begin with. I personally would welcome something like LFG chat from Aion since that one connected the entire race throught the entire world so you always found ppl/replacement for a run and you could often chat about major stuff with lots of ppl too … here I can only chat with f-ing NPC all the time -.-

PS: You can always disable this part of chat, just learn how to set your chat settings via bookmarks :P
