Guild Wars 2

I’ve been gearing up my second toon by runing dungeons for gear and weapons so I go through and run with my alt Mesmer then switch toons and do them on my main guardian, at the start I could have sworn that I always got 60 tokens for each path per toon per day but today I was only getting 30 for my second run through on a different toon. Is this a bug or working as intended? Are the rewards determined by account or toon?

And shouldn’t I be getting 20, not 30 if it was determined by account

Getting 30 means you were hit by the diminished returns system.

it USED to be accoutn bound, but they either A) ninja changed it, or B ) broke it while trying to fix something else. can’t really tell whith these guys. But you aren’t alone in that happening

Do another dungeon in between doing the paths on different alts.

That’s what I was going to try next

You got hit by diminishing returns. Take a 30 minute to an hour break before starting the same path again with a different character. The situation happened to me before.
