I’m bored from fractals. I’m sure, many people think like me. Everyone just doing daily fractals or 40 Farm. Upcoming new fractals wont fix this.

I want back old dungeon system. I like dungeons, because not too much boring.

Arenanet can’t you see that. Dungeons empty ! Economy not balanced, also this injustice for new peoples.

Make every dungeon path " 1 gold " .

Not just tin hat. Explicitly stated by ANet.

They wanted dungeons to continue to have ‘unique’ rewards, which come from dungeon tokens. Problem is, the tokens don’t drop in a reasonable amount. Increase those (50%, double?) and dungeons might be in a decent spot.

Can we get a mod to sticky a giant post at the top of this forum that states dungeons are dead and gone. Please stop posting about how to fix them. There is literally NO ONE at the company working on them anymore. I would even say rename the forum to Fractals and Raids!

More like they did not have the will to continue working on them. Means could have been found if they really wanted, but they simply didn’t consider dungeons worth putting any effort into. Better have people working on Shiny New Things.

Unfortunately, this. What dungeons need now is not thinking how to fix them (even though they do desperately need to be fixed), but persuading devs that they should bother. Currently, devs do not care a tiny bit about saving dungeons (quite the opposite, actually), and until that changes, any suggestions in that regard are meaningless.

Actually, they really don’t have the talent to work on dungeons right now.. They got rid of the dungeon development team shortly after the launch of the game so there’s no one left in house who’s familiar with the code. Unless there’s a dev daring enough to touch dungeon code any sort of major overhauls are impossible, and they can only fix incidental bugs at best. So, at this point they’re either looking to bringing in a new team to learn the code and hopefully make sense of it (how you ever tried reading someone else’s code?), or they could cut their loses and move on.

From an IT standpoint I don’t blame them at all for taking the path of least resistance, and I can only imagine the potential cost involved with training up a new dungeon development team. Do I agree with their decision? Not at all. But at the end of the day, this game is nothing more than a for-profit company so only the decisions that drive revenue within a reasonable amount of time (ROI included) are the decisions that the Anet team is going to commit to.

It’s so funny that you can get the dungeon skins faster by afking on pvp farm servers than actually running the dungeons, because you won’t find people to run them with.

Rank farming is more rewarding while also brain dead, and it IS supported by Anet. For reasons.

Imo this company doesn’t understand what kind of a gem it could polish from gw2

It could very well be the best PVE dungeon MMO ever made if they wouldn’t try making the game for zergs and “esport”

I understand the appeal of having 100 people in a zerg, but if it happens in a game with a 5 target max cap on every aoe, I don’t understand how we’re supposed to work together even in theory.

Personally, I don’t think adding gold will be the answer. If they can add say an ascended weapons or armor chest in exchange for a lot of dungeon tokens, that may entice people to return as the only option for ascended weapons and armor is currently crafting or a rare drop from fractals.

This is unlikely, since the reason for ascended was because players were acquiring exotic gear too quickly.

Nobody knows. This is just a usual Anet answer. Hope is there but it was destroyed so many times before, I stay skeptical.

I don’t know about other dungeons, but I tried AC with my guild and it was so freaking easy. Power creep created from not having split skills from PvP and the new profession specializations made everything in AC a total faceroll experience. 60 silver + lots of blue/green loot is actually a good value. However, I do think they should look at Arah and other higher tier dungeons.

Dungeons used to be the most entertaining content to me. After HoT I explored some of the new stuff but got bored of it pretty soon. Now im inactive for like 1-2 month. With the dungeonsrewards nerfed the game died for me. It`s sad how Anet forces people to buy the expainsion and ruines the game even for those who do.

A few of the responses in the AMA thread were interesting. Seems that while they don’t intend to recreate the dungeon team or dedicate any resources to them (which means there will be no new dungeons for sure), they are admitting that the reward nerf went too far, and are considering at least partially reversing it.
We shall see if anything will come of it.

Hello anet , i will be very straight forward in this because you dont wanna read alot.
before you nerf dungeon gold , i & lots of friends used to play every single day on a basic routine , running all dungeons in 4~ 6 hours
then we do other stuff then go to work or go to sleep.
but after the nerf , they all quit .. nobody wants to play anymore , their routine is killed & they hated the game ..
few days ago a new friend i brought to gw2 .. and i left him to lvl to 80 by himself .. then he asked me about dungeons ..
he wanted to play in a dungeon , so i said alright ill take him to " AC " dungeon , here is the problem .. nobody wants to play !!
i couldnt play with him because the party was not full and people arent playing dungeons anymore !! because its not worth it to run the dungeon
for a 35silver ! .. the time is not worth it anymore like it used to be !! ..
so my friend quit the game and i feel so bad about it , not because my friend quit , lots of people are quitting too !
i feel sad mainly because i loved this game more than any other game .. its so amazing that seeing it falling like this kills me from inside
im talking like an addict and maybe i am .. but i really would like to see you bringing dungeons back because it gave gw2 it’s special touch..
and you guys killed it by that nerf

please take this in consideration i beg you , im not asking for a miracle here !

I stopped playing GW2 because of the dungeon nerf, among other things. I swing by here every now and then to see if anyone gives a crap, both players and the developers. It’s nice to see that the players care enough to ask for something with regards to dungeons. It was good fun content that I always felt needed to be expanded upon in one form or another, not nerfed down to pointlessness . One could argue that’s the whole point of fractals but it’s not the same, and certainly didn’t feel all that rewarding.

There’s plenty of games that are both fun and rewarding where I don’t play through the same 8 dungeons over and over with no hope of getting anything new. In the years that I played I ran hundreds upon hundreds of dungeon paths I wish they had some sort of counter incorporated for that.

If they ever add more dungeons or continents to this game (Cantha) or better yet new continents with new dungeons I would most likely advise Anet to shut up and take my money in the most polite way possible.

I quit today, I have played since beta and enjoyed this game thoroughly until HoT and specifically killing off dungeons, wvw and starting esports.

There are still fractals but it is the exact same stuff, just that you lose buffs on rolls or crits cause enemies to buff up or the enemy explodes doing the exact same thing and there is no real story or not one people may understand because they did not play gw 1 or ls1.

Dungeons where a self contained story, same location but different parts so different content each time and was fun with some nice rewards.

Now they are trying to push fractals onto everyone and make them for all probably by dumbing them down and raids. I get the sinking feeling that they intend to wrap un unfinished gw 1 stories with raids, all of them.

They used to want to not be like conventional mmo games, yet they added raids which also requires generic dps tank healer setups. Oh and esports is just another thing ruining the game.

They kill off good content like wve, the story itself and pve areas in favor of fractals that repeat themselves but with a different situation which people still go full zerk for anyway, esports and raids.

Well like I said I am out, a player who beta tested the game, has played through al the transitions and gave alot of money to the game, and now I am out like alot of others.

When ff14 hit a bad time they decided to close down whilst they worked on it, because they didn’t want their playerbase to suffer from bad content and potentially quit.

Look at 14 now, fantastic game and able to put regular quality content out every 3 months both story content, dungeons and raids, gw can not do more than 1 at a time.

Also look at the last gw 2 event, the Chinese new year, all we got was some imperfect pvp game with terrible rewards plus allowing people to buy both gw 2 and HoT for the price of HoT? They will just milk the free content and quit mostly, or try to win esports for the prize then quit.

So I am done, they have lost another fan I hopes of drawing in more people, I spoke to someone who joined and quit on the same day, f2p person and because the pvp is a flop without HoT he quit playing already.

And they throw away their playerbase for people like that?

Well anyway sorry for the rant xD
