I don’t mind the new fixes, but my reasoning for skipping mobs, especially in instances like “Arah”, most of those mobs 1 shot players. (Especially with the concept of not needing a tank, healer, etc. which you can but you don’t need it). Its not eliminating that concept and going back to the norm.
Now my thing is, back when this game was advertised in beta, it showed the possibility of fighting mobs anyway you see fit, by pulling them outside their zones and finding new ways to kill them. I know we all remember the Ascalon Catacombs right with the 2 Bosses, where a team pulled one out the door and locked the door. Lets put that into perspective of the first Boss in the Dredge fight in Fractals. You can no longer pull him out the room or he going invulnerable and or resets. They fixed the wheel because hey its an object and were not suppose to use it as an advantage (crutch). Ignoring the fact you can only dodge twice before you dodge has a downtime for a few seconds.
Skipping: The reason skipping became the norm in everyday is the game itself advertised for the casual gamer. if that is the case then the casual game is the gamer that has kids, chores, works for a living and has little time to play for long hours. Yet we are somehow having 2 perspectives on what we should and what we can’t do. Honestly for a 5 man group I do not expect dungeon content to be longer that 1 hour. I shouldn’t haven’t have to be forced to spend 3 hours completing a single path because we are forced to kill Every single mob in the instance, that is ridiculous. I can expect that from a game such as WOW, Age of Conan where they have 20 player+ Raids, but on a 5 man limit no.
I have to say last night I spent 2 hours in Fractals and on the 3rd level was dredge lvl 30 fractal. Now I have to say at the 2 hour mark i was tired, thirsty, my eyes were falling asleep and I started to get headaches. I even noticed on the Harpie (asura) fractal the lights started to cause me some blurryness. Which normally tells me that I need to stop playing, but then what about the group, should I say to them: “Hey guys I helped you get all this way, so carry me to the end because i still want the reward?” of “Hey guys I am tired and though I did all this work I am going to quit now”.
With that said lighten up, you complain about people finding ways to skip content, it is not because they don’t want to do you content but you can’t force everything down a players throat, it is not viable. I heard this was never meant to become a gear grind, and it is about having fun and enjoying the game. But who is having fun right now? No one, plain and simple.
Finally for those that don’t want to skip content, it is a simple matter of posting a looking for group message and saying “no skipping content” it is not hard at all. Some people want to kill every single mob and some people don’t that kind of time.
By the way, how about and actually vote on most of the features in this content, as to what players really want. I mean no one can force you to skip but why be forced to do it all.
