EXP/Story mode

1 Member of your party must have completed Story Mode to enter Explorable.
Thank you, you are a gentleman and a scholar.
So there’s no point in doing story?
Some people actually enjoy the lore and story and it would be worth it to them to complete story mode.
In addition, it would be worth it just to be certain that you have someone who can initiate the explorable mode. Nothing like putting together 5 people only to discovery nobody completed Story mode.

Story mode is also needed to the Dungeon Master title.
i definitely want the dungeon master title, but my point is that the story modes of dungeons are just as fun and challenging as the explore paths (and sometimes are MORE so… HotW…), and if we got tokens for completing them we’d have almost 25% more content to run for fun AND profit (because a lot of players consider profit to be quite fun). it would also encourage more runs of story mode so people could have more chances to enjoy awesome content that’s already in the game. i doubt many of us are forming groups to replay story. i can think of almost no reason not to offer tokens for their completion. it wouldn’t make the armor easier to get, it wouldn’t make the dungeons easier to farm, it would just give us /more/ dungeons. i might be missing some economic principle or another but this makes a lot of sense to me. maybe i was little rash in saying that “There’s no point to doing story,” but it sounded better than “you have highly deincentivized repeat story runs, and made them very much skipabble to the average player” (after all by this logic only about 20% of us have to actually have xplo unlocked).
i just think offering tokens for story mode adds more content without new development or ruining our economy, and i feel it’s inconsistent with the rest of the dungeon content.
yes, i’m sure a few of us run the story modes because they want to see what happens to the characters. but lore and story are not really reasons to play a game. they’re reasons to watch a movie, or read a book, but from a game with an economy i want entertainment (check), challenge (check), and reward (check… except story). a good story can make a good game great, but it’s not going to be the center of attention. and i haven’t even gone into my rant about how the GW2 story is, by several reasonable metrics, not only banal and generic but actually thematically offensive to those of a progressive mindset. but i don’t think that matters even a little bit because i find it fun to play, and i think a lot of our community would agree with me.
so why no tokens?!
all dungeons are optional, they should remain just that. there need be no real reason to run any of them, save the rewards you get from doing so(if you want them).
On a related note. If you have completed story with one character could you start an explore instance on another character? Or does each character have to finish story mode before they are able to initiate explore mode?
Story mode completion is character-based, so you would need to complete story mode on each additional character to be able to host explorable modes for any particular dungeon.
