Reading this made me watch the video, and it totally did seem that way. The permanent boon spam and constant symbol healing is pretty much adding the effect that the monk, SY para and consumables had on the old Ursans. Very manmode build.
I’m not going to lie, this looks like the most fun thing ever and is just like Ursanway from GW1. I want to do this really badly.

Ultimately it depends on if you enjoyed the Ursan Blessing skill set in general or not. If you just used it for the lol factor, I could see it being boring second go around.

Looks very similar to a 2 guardian+something fractal trio I saw a while back, except they were using full AH Hammer builds. The only difference between those and this is the speed of the kills. The meta builds gained some power creep, but these easy ones… WOW, just kinda bothers me that you can trivialize the game so much now… of course we’re lacking any real challenge anyways, but it just means it’ll have to be that much harder to prevent us from using this type of setup to just faceroll it.
So pve is really an anything-goes now?

This actually has great might, perma fury and perma quickness (lol), plus when they need it, easy reflection and condition removal can always be traited/skilled. The only thing stopping this sort of build from becoming the ursanway of GW2 is the exclusion of all other professions. Ursan was so popular since every profession was ok using it, not everyone has a guardian/wants to play a guardian in GW2, altho a mesmer or 2 could easily go with these. More AoE quickness sharing!

It was very fun but yeah i think it would get old really fast. And not all of us were even beserker. One of our guys thought it was a joke clerics run, and not everyone had the right runes etc. Also we used this setup on a 49 fractal, and the results were similar.
Just did a frac as well, using Zeal 223, Virtues 111 and Honor 132. It really is ursanway like, pretty strong for how simple it is. You can just facetank through some mechanics. Now if guards had stealth.. ^^

One of my friend cough Ecori cough doesnt even want to run dungeon anymore because the patch REALLY trivialized the game, we even tanked lupicus barrage because of soothing mist, battle presence and constant regen, while all being fully berserker. But yes guard really got a huge damage buff this patch, and feel my wrath is a little too good, I think we have access to way too much quickness now.

Yeah we did 5 man hammer fractal 40 earlier with a similar build to this. To say it trivialized everything is an understatement. Archdiviner melted in seconds and gotta say the only fatalities were from the environment (thermanova tired isn’t good) and people could tank almost anything.
With 5 guards, try all having retreat and going into virtues for unscathed contender, all pick absolute resolution for the extra troll heal and indomitable courage or whatever tickles your fancy.
We plan to faceroll lvl 40 and 50 fractals tomorrow to get a friend closer to 50.
Well with the way it is now with radiance and zeal, radiance gives you more access for blinds for the trash mobs, zeal gives you more vulnerability on blinds. With just the symbols heals and aegis and perma protection u can outheal mossman and many other bosses. Mayb 1 guard going into virtues would work better but not all imo.
Did my first FoTM 50 since the patch, got fire shaman, really unorganized group, bad comp, burned him down after his face bubble without getting one member down. Took 20 seconds.
We just did it for the unscathed contender buff tbh, nothing to be sniffed at. Might try going radiance too but tbh it’s so faceroll that I don’t think it really matters.

Zeal is pretty much given and Honor is too strong to drop with empowering might and writ of persistence, so it comes down to radiance vs virtues.
Radiance: 10%^retal, 10% critchance^burn, stronger burns or +30stat per signet
Virtues: 20%^aegis, more burns, 1% per boon
I’d take virtues unless im facing very strong trash.

I can totally see them nerfing quickness in general, seeing how much more accessible it is now. I’d guess it’ll be something like stealth stacking — stacks duration, but with a cap. Seems reasonable to me. Perma-quickness is rather OP….
One thing I can say, thank god they nerfed boon duration from traits. Could you imagine how nutty it would be if every Guardian had 30% more boon duration from Virtues?
Obviously the cool down of FMW should be around 60 seconds, but even then it wouldn’t stop this build. The only thing that kept the book balanced before was the long cast time and fact you couldnt do anything else while the book was out and it didn;t stack in duration with each other.
They need to really do a close look at Quickness and Slow before they Chronomancer comes out.

Yeah I’m not looking forward to the game getting more broken than it has become from this new patch so I agree with that.
Probably the only PvE related content they will ever take into consideration when making balance changes would be future releases like in this upcoming expansion.

Slow clearly is going to be an issue though. They might just have to go down the easy route and make bosses immune to it.

that’s the only problem i got with this. Mes rly lost its elite’s. Moa get to engi aoe-moa and TW gone to guard, which dungeon-wise is the direct part it’s “compared” with.
It’s hard for a mes, to loose his last advantage over guardian, which alredy brings slightly better dps compared with way more defence. Just portals left and those usually not used due to you need to skip some loot most of the time…
On the other hand, i’d love to see a “noob-save” way for casuals to do dungeons. So they don’t try to sneak in exp parties just wanna do some quick runs. Of cause those should be slightly slower than doing it with a “balanced” composition, which seems to be.
Just did a level 50 guardway, its ridiculous, everything is melting in seconds. After having a closer look on the dmg numbers, could it be that Anet bugged the symbol trait so that it gives the dmg-modifier for every symbol?
lol, and apparently timewarp was too strong to get a paltry 20% cooldown reduction with other glamours? Sense, Anet. You’re not making any.
So I’ve had time to do this in 50 fractals and Arah. It melts lupi perhaps not as quick as the 11s kill but it’s certainly not taking 30s and that’s pressing elite and auto attacks, wall of reflection in phase 2 for “advanced” users of such a low effort build.
It makes fractal 50 feel like a 10 and quite frankly just makes the entire game become a 2 button press and win.
I know the people who have run all these dungeons solo, naked, while riding a unicycle and juggling chainsaws can blow stuff up a bit quicker and find it no challenge. Still it removes nearly all effort from most content, you can even get away with never dodging most of the time.
Easy fix for that is make the base healing on symbols way lower and increase the scaling factor with healing power. Similar to what they did with warrior’s shouts.
The perma quickness will probably get nerfed soon because it is so easy to obtain in wvw an pve.
