I have never played with a good Engie for FOTM, but I think Engies could be the hidden OP of FOTM. So fellow Engies please share your knowledge.

Engie Net Turret could be super OP against Archdiviner. His deadliest attacks requires him to face his targets. With Immobilize from the turret and maybe some from Thief, Guardian, warrior it might create enough perma Immobilize where he can’t turn so basically everyone can stand behind him and just free DPS him down.

Net Turret/Rifle builds are generally fairly common for engineers against any boss when not stacking.

Consider condition duration increases to help pad the windows of opportunity between net shots, use frost grenades and glue bomb to “freeze” the AI in place. It is very common to see boss mobs not even turning around outside of immobilization when affected by chill (don’t know why it happens but it does).

Outside of that you may consider SD Gren MA build for general sustained damage especially if you don’t need to be the one stacking might.

Due to turret hitboxes being very small and awkward, Tar Eles in the grawl fractal can have trouble gunning them down because of the terrain, consider thumper turret for agro and it can generally last the entire unless you wanna blast it for might stacks.

I’ll post more when I get home but you can really do some pretty broken stuff with an engineer in Fractals.

Swampland: Super Speed + Rocket boots for running any wisp. Toss Elixir U if you need during bloomhunger, use zerk nades/bombs for mossman.

Aquatic Ruins: Elixir X is really nice if you get whirlpool for the krait. Grenades used to be good underwater but I feel like they nerfed them a while back-haven’t really played underwater in a long time. They were an amazing underwater weapon for a long while though. For the swimming bit, lots of swiftness. For jellyfish, zerk it.

Urban Battlegrounds: This one is just so straightforward. Zerk dps, grenades on the lava buckets. Grenades can pull pretty nicely in the courtyard and kill siege from afar. Can toss Elixir U for walls around corners if you need it.

Uncategorized: Blind the harpies, Elixir U for walls, Zerk the ettin/charr/engi/rabbit, take a battery and grenade range Old Tom, use Tool Kit for the pull during the final raving asura boss fight, and keep up walls with Elixir U. AOE grenade/bomb your stacked golems once you get em all together.

Snowblind: Zerk dps, can invis party for fire part if you need, use lots of swiftness, can easily run through the forest, zerk dps final boss.

Molten Furnace: Smash head on keyboard because you just got time gated.

Cliffside: Don’t know, usually just zerk dps but might try your net turret suggestion. With net turret, net turret toolbelt, and rifle 2 you can get three immobilizes. Can also use glue bomb… use blinds on mobs while breaking seals, invis if you need it at times.

Aetherblade: Zerk dps as you work around traps. Walls if you need it.

Volcanic: Engi speed here is OP for running rocks. For the final fight you can use blinds, a wall, glue bomb if you need to get away. If your party is good though you’ll stack mid and aoe dps everything all at once.

Thaumanova Reactor: Zerk dps?

Underground Facility: Zerk dps, can use speed and rocket boots if you want bucket duty.

Maw: Engi OP here if your party wants to AFK.

Molten Boss Fractal: Zerk dps, dodge, walls.

Mai Trin: Don’t want to talk about it, haven’t had the buffed version on the high levels yet so I don’t know what to say.

General trend: Zerk dps, like everyone else, with a bit of added utility options for specialized scenarios. Like everyone else…

There are two massive engi exploits in fractals that have been in game since launch that I have no interest in talking about because I intend to keep using them.

Net Turret used to be really dumb for locking down kiteable bosses. Unfortunately you can’t reach 100% uptime on immob solo with them anymore and I don’t think any other class has substantial access to immob uptime.

All classes have plenty of immob so any composition should be able to achieve perma immob or atleast near perma immob. Ranger has an elite that basically immobs for a full fight. Thief has a spammable immob. Other classes have a variety of immob skills on relatively short cooldowns. Necro has decent access without even having to build for it.

I think the nets used to miss a lot? But I know parties, if not individuals, easily reach 100% uptime on bosses like the tar boss in Arah.

Edit: Just did cliffside. Net turret + Supply Crate + Rifle net makes things a LOT faster. I stood behind him and didn’t get touched.

Edit edit: also seems they patched the feet seals so you can’t double dip anymore.

Thats pretty cool, so that means
Net Turret + Grawl shaman = no more arrow to da face/knee?
Probably works for Mai Trin, svanir, mossman, etc.

Grawl Shaman kills the Net Turret way too fast for that to be effective. I don’t think he needs to be facing anything to do his swoop or AOE.

Just 2 days ago we used an engie to perma (well 70%) immobilize Legendary Archdiviner, my life had never been so easy, we just stood behind him and DPS’ed him down. This could become a very interesting tactics.

Would be good against Captain Ashym as well.

We considered using a condi/hybrid engineer for dredge car when it existed along with 50+, dunno what other particularly ‘exceptional’ uses they’d have.

Outside of what was said already.

Flame Turret overcharge together with bombs #4 and grenades #3 is great for blinding in Cliffside.

Toss Elixir R with 3 points in last tree can be great way to support your dying party members.

Harpies: about 12 seconds of stealth from blasting smoke field (big ol’bomb, healing turret, trumphet turret), additional 5 sec from elixir S, you can finish with toss elixir B for stability.
