What’s the best use for them? I have stacks and stacks of them in my bank, but no real use for them. Options I’ve heard so far are:

1. Buy yellows and mystic forge them
2. Buy exotics and black lion salvage
3. Even more alts!

Basically I’m looking for the best way (if there is one) to turn tokens into gold.

I buy 30 token yellows and salvage them as I’m not a fan of the mystic toilet. Only other option is attain a recipe that uses 200 of ‘x’ token to make an accessory and sell it on TP.

Just saying that I buy 4 exotics o he same type. I.e greatswords.

This far I’ve gotten two precursors. The colossus (now a legendary) and I just got dusk. (Not sure what to do with it). The longest it took was 6 tries for DUsk. The hammer one I got in 3.

for ectos you can salvage yellows, but because yellow prices are so down, I’m thinking of buying weapons for 210 tokens each, mystic toiletting them to remove the soulbound thing and selling.

You could buy exotics and forge them hoping for a precursor. You can always sell the exotic you do get (do some research and choose a weapon which has the most valuable forgeable weapons – remember that two handed weapons cost a lot more then main hand weapons and off hand weapons cost less than main hand – does not apply to main hand weapons that are also off hand). I suspect CoF path 1 will be nerfed soon (possibly in the next update) so it might be worthwhile collecting ecto while they are cheap and holding onto them hoping for a CoF nerf which will push their value up.

That sort of luck is legendary in and of itself.

The majority of my tokens are for CM, so the rare salvaging doesn’t work for those. So I guess I will try the mystic forge and trust to luck. Thanks all for your suggestions.

or try different play style, go condition damage or berserk, knight or PVT…

How to deplete excess of tokens:
-gear up alts.
-for cof/coe/hotw/arah, buying rare armor for salvage/forge it’s an option.
-for any other dg, get exotic weapons and trow them in forge for a guaranteed exotic drop, with chance of precursor. (i’d suggest dagger, spark it’s very valuable and daggers costs 300 tokens versus 390 of hammer/staff/GS, which means more tries.)
-buy exotic stuff and salvage for ectos.
-potions and sigils should be tradeable, so if you see interesting prices you can drop some tokens there (but sigils are only x more dmg versus mob kind, so not very sought after, while potions.. dunno.)
-trow them on a mule and let them take some dust until Anet gives us some use for them (lodestones for tokens, hint hint)

Gearing up alts defiantly depletes your token build up. I was playing one character for awhile, then I leveled up a couple alts and spent all the tokens pretty easily gearing them up.

I think it is way too late for them to add lodestones for tokens, but you can still dream though if it makes you feel better.
