I did a search and didn’t see a dedicated thread to this topic; so I apologize if this has already been discussed. I’m only level 5 which makes me a noob to this fight.

Last night during the boss fight I realized how often the Jade Maw was targetting my pet, and I have a few questions about this.

1. Is this boss mechanic intended by the devs? Specifically is it intentional that the boss should attack the pets that frequently over the players?

2. How are other teams dealing with this? It obviously prolongs the fight since the pet can’t deal any damage. I can stow the pet away, but then I can’t really enter combat I think. So any tips from fellow rangers would be appreciated.

I run my Ranger as my fractal character, and it can be annoying. My poor siamoth 2 nights ago was targeted 6 times in a row at one point. It is however, a blessing depending how you use it. My party was then able to kill off the Jade Colossi without worry.

On phase 3, if you want to speed things up, then yeah stay out of combat. Stow your pet and grab a crystal. Throwing that won’t put you in combat and your pet can’t be targeted then.
