Ever since I equipped all my alts with infused fractals rings and infused back pieces I have no use for Pristine Fractal Relics. What I still need from FOTM are weapon skins and the chance of getting the skin you want from daily is slim, the chance of getting A skin is slim because of constant ring drops. I was and still am hoping that ANET would put a NPC inside the fractals from who you could trade your relics for fractals skins. Anywhere from 30 to 100 Pristine Fractal Relics for a skin would work. It would give players a guaranteed reward for doing dailies in FOTM and more motivation!

Really hoping to get a good feedback and to perhaps start moving things towards putting such NPC in game.

No thanks, that just promotes complete farming including the low levels which are mind numbingly boring.

Acquisition needs to give benefit for those of higher levels. An example would be maintaining the rng in 20/30 but having 40+ fractals drop a reward ticket instead so you can choose which one you want.

True, just read some other articles and I like the idea about MF recipes of Pristine Relics, Shards, etc. Combination of crafting materials that drop in high lvl fractals and Pristine Relics would work for me. As long as we have an alternative way to get weapon skins since not all of us are as lucky as some are.

No. Please keep these weapons prestigious. I don’t want people to be able to grind the mind-numbingly easy low levels and getting fractal skins that devalue the runs everyone else does at 48 to get the highest chance at them.

Drastically increase the drop rate instead as you go to higher levels. Or make them a guaranteed drop at higher levels. Or add a new high level token similar to pristine relics that allows you to choose your weapon.

RNG is bad. Grinding easy things is bad. Doing 40+ fractals is not only difficult, but shows you’ve more than put in your time in the dungeon and shouldn’t be limited by those two factors.

My suggestion would be something along these lines:

Player receives a Fractal skin of their choosing after completing 20 dailies in the FOTM 10-18 range.
Player receives a Fractal skin of their choosing after completing 15 dailies in the FOTM 20-28 range.
Player receives a Fractal skin of their choosing after completing 10 dailies in the FOTM 30-38 range.
Player receives a Fractal skin of their choosing after completing 5 dailies in the FOTM 40-48 range.

These values could change, but basically I agree that players running 40+ dailies should be awarded more than a player running 30 – 38 dailies.. and so on.

However let me do those ppl who think “FOTM is in a good place”, more like a specific someone , a favor and ask you guys to post your ideas over there.

OH and hell yeah, low lvl fractalers should not even have chance to get fractal skins. Frankly I think ppl who do the highest lvl possible should get them. Not just ppl doing the highest tier, cos thanks to anet’s wonderful idea of letting ppl do the fractal of the highest lvl player in your group, there are so many dim wits in 40+ tier now. Wanted to say that they were half wits but that will be too much of a complement to them.

I think a 4th tier upgrade material should be added to fractals F30+ like a Gem of refined fractal mists. Using 1-3 of them, a particular Infused Ascended ring, gift of ascenson, and 50 ectos in mystic forge could get you a skin. This would mean people would need to run F30s more often to get a Gem – since the Gem is based on RNG – it would still be scarce, also basing it on ascended rings gives us the ability to suck up excess unwanted rings and pristine relics.

My suggestion elsewhere was to have a barter golem in the fractal gateway trade any fractal skin for a fractal ‘gizmo’, then also trade a fractal gizmo plus 20 pristine relics for a fractal skin of choice.

ArenaNet has not responded to any thread created about Fractal Skins since they were debuted.

After tirelessly running Fractals 28 38 and 40s over and over. Bought 6 rings with pristines, have 10-20 more in the bank, 20ish Ascended Rings in the bank. Many of which are duplicates, Fractal Frequenter almost completed (With most of it from repeatedly going for skins)

What do I have to show for it? Not a thing. I’ve received ONE skin. The trident. Which I found out has no confirmation window for salvaging, and probably still doesn’t.

The best thing to do regarding Fractals is stop doing them altogether. Maybe they’ll get the idea going against their own manifesto with the RNG system is flawed, and finally change the reward system.

Don’t get your hopes up.

On a different note: How do so many people end up salvaging their high end items?
