Farewell Reckless Dodge
nice movie, really
i also solo fractals, but i don’t brag and make videos of how i cheat…
p.s. i would had preferred the full 7 min duration, and not the fast forward
I’ve noticed that skips can happen in videos due to issues when rendering it in the first place. If you don’t already watch your video through after rendering it, do it and if you notice skips or issues, render it again.
@DanH What cheats is he using? This video isn’t even about fractals.

I have now rendered it three times, and I get skips at exactly same time (raw material is uncompressed so I can barely watch it). I always render when not gaming for best result.
Could it be possible that playing + recording is too much for my computer and record doesn’t get enough juice (I play nearly max settings so that wouldn’t be a big issue).

And how do you solo jungle fractal with wisps?
If you’re lossless recording, you’re doing around 10-20 GB per minute. Anything running in the background using the same drive, such as something updating or a virus scanner, can cause skipping. If your hard drive can’t keep up, skipping will occur when your memory can no longer hold the excess data. You should be able to notice this in-game, because your load times would be greatly increased, if you’re playing from and recording to the same drive.
If your raw file is fine, then it’s the program you used to render it or the encoder. VirtualDub or Handbrake can be used with little effort to encode the raw file so you may watch it more easily. In some cases, encoders can hang on certain frames, but since it only happens during the later half, this probably isn’t the case.
If you don’t normally encounter skipping, chances are it was caused by a background program updating or scanning.
Yes, I use lossless recording on HDD and GW2 is on SSD (I assumed this would give best performance FPS-wise).
Next time I try disabling AV and see if it goes any better.
I have got this on many other videos but it seems very random.

Why the farewell?
Very likely next patch they fix Reckless Dodge and similar traits so that you can’t dodge out of Lupicus bubble.
if you’ve got a tv card lying around, they often have a simple mpeg1/2 encoder inside. those can real-time encode video down to a size which your HD can easily handle without stressing your cpu. you’ll still need to reencode it afterwards, as it’s still gigantic, but much better than before =) haven’t tried it in windows but I can’t see why it shouldn’t be possible there as well…
otherwise.. realtime software encoding should be possible, if you chose a simple encoder (again, mpeg 1 or 2 maybe) for the recording and reencode with a better codec afterwards..

Weth is clearly cheating here, like every warrior that battles lupi. Hint: check thread name. Also, this statement might be sarcastic.
