FotM doubts...?
No if you are not willing to trotting all the way to 26+ where the loot is actually worth it, but even then you are subjected to the mercy of RNG. In short, it’s not consistent, running easier dungeons for loot, token, and money rewards is much more consistent.
You’ll have to be level 80 for most people willing to take you, Fractal is the unofficial end game as of now. As a result you are expected to be well geared, but hardly anyway really checks for gear in initial levels.
You can do it with really any gear, at any level, with any skill level. But if you want to get to where the money is then yes, you need to be well geared and know how to play well.
by “all geared up” I mean, do I have to sacrifice my MF gear to a specific build gear?
and by “a really good player” I mean do I need to be above ‘average/not too shabby’ player?
but back the main question.. is it worth it to reach high fractals level?
is it guaranteed that I’ll be (not swimming in gold) but close to it?
or would I be better at Orr, farming all day and get my 10-15 gold a day?
If you are selling everything you get in fractals including the ectos from rares and the cores/lodestons from chests then a run, which takes about an hour to an hour and a half, nets like 3 gold on average. Some much much higher when you get 2 lodestones, an exotic, and 11 rares in one run, and a few lower when you get green after green after green. On the assumption that “farming all day” means 8 hours, I’d go ahead and say you can make 10-15 gold plus in fractals easily if you got to 26+.
The main problem is FotM is a group task, farming in Orr is a solitary task. A bad group can not be saved even if you are “Not too shabby”. The main upside is FotM isn’t as boring as Orr farming all day.

I do believe that..

Well, I do need to keep ectos and some tier 6 materials…
Hey fellow tyrians,
I’m fairly new to FotM since I’ve only reached lvl 3 and only did so to get my monthly achievement. But recently I’ve been researching ways of farming gold (for my legendary) and a lot of people say FotM is a good spot for that.
But is it better than Orr farming?
Would I get more gold per hour?
Do I need to be all geared up?
Do I need to be a really good player? If someone could answer my questions I would very much appreciate it.
Thank you, and have a good game.
Orr farming is mainly for karma. The rare drops now and then are just icing on the cake
You will get more gold per hour even if most people don’t see that in the form of exotic/rares, lodestones, orbs, shards, etc.
As someone said before, you need to get to 20+ or 26+ to have drops be meaningful. So yes you need to be all geared up as monsters are tougher in higher difficulty.
This is considered a hardcore dungeon so you will have to develop the skills if you don’t have them already. But that’s what Fractal 1-20 is for… hopefully you mature into a good GW2 player by then.
Well, thank you all, I think I got the answers I needed.
