FotM is by far the most friendly dungeon...
When I do 30+, there’s only two things I want to avoid – rangers, and flamethrower engineers.
Everything else, idgaf, eff yeah let’s do this. I do admit I’m getting a little tired of greatsword mesmers pulling mobs in Ascalon when I’m an engineer and about to toss a freeze grenade for a nice, long, slow approach for all those veteran one-shot warriors.
Because Fractals have a ton of puzzles and things where class utility > DPS. it also helps that unlike dungeons, fractals are full of regular mobs, standard veterans, few champions and of course bosses are legendary.

True, plowing through horde of regular/veteran mobs feels so satisfying and it’s so faceroll it’s how should dungeons look like.
the added mechanics and tactics needed to complete a given fractal doesn’t hurt either. they’re just much better designed. normal non damage sponge billion HP trash mobs, better drops off everything, challenges that you have to do correctly, at least a certain base level of cooperation necessary in most, etc. any mob with a mere 1 or 2 skills dies long before the point of becoming tedious, etc.
by comparisons dungeons are literally like that monty python black knight skit. a rather uneventful mind numbing fight against some kitten that is still squirming after it should be dead. I have the trait “last chance” on my warrior, and if i’m not in a group of other warriors + guardians well that kitten is up every trash pull(90 second cooldown).

I would like to venture that Berserker Rangers are actually exceedingly effective in high level fractal runs. I bring a Ranger friend of mine with me to all of my L48 runs, and he contributes significantly, and helps a lot if we run into the Grawl fractal.
The only class I feel is really “required” for high-level fractals is a Guardian, and that is mostly as a crutch for the possibility of encountering a high-level Grawl boss. That boss requires so much projectile management that it is unfeasible for other classes to handle it without support from a Guardian’s Aegis spam, reflecting wall, shield of the avenger, and other assorted team-wide utilities. Optimally, this encounter is best handled with 2 Guardians and the other classes being whatever. The second Guardian goes a long way in damage mitigation. I enjoy the difficulty of this boss, personally, but I feel that if he were nerfed, it would lessen the necessity of at least one Guardian in those situations.
bring 2 guards and you can literary faceroll any fotm boss…
sarcastic comment: still, the thieves are so OP, they must be nerfed more.
Lvl 30 =! mid range
it’s poop range, hence the poop loot. 2% chance to get a skin meant it’s not worth doing.
