Guild Wars 2

As always, just another rant:

So I’ve spent an hour just to look for a group for LVL4 FOTM.

Been spamming in several guild channels, overflows, maps, cities etc and also on gw2lfg.com

Alright after an hour later, finally I’ve got myself a group.

Went into the dungeon, went through 2 fractal. In the 3rd, we got into charr battle. Everything seems to be fine then all of a sudden the game freaking crash! For christ’s sake!

Everyone was kicked out of the FOTM and had to re-do it.

And we all goes rage and call it off for the day.

Just thought I would add to this crash list. Our group had just run through the town w/ our band of Flame Legion Charr following us, when we open up a gate and see the red “event border” beyond. Just as the first stepped through the doorway, the game crashed for the three of us (as the other two had DC’d just prior to this and could not get back in…we were trying to complete w/ just three of us). Suffice it to say, we were a bit disappointed. This was Fractals stage 1 for us, and it was just such a downer to end on a crash. We had learned so much and it was a group where everyone seemed to be an adult…just not a fun way to end a run. I really hope something can be done about the DCs and crashes in this instance….it has potential.

Just wondering if this was something specific causing the crash.

Did this particular fractal twice. First time, we got to the final area from the left and the battle went fine.

Second time however, we got to the final area from the right and all the way to the top of the area ( like a reversed c shape ) and the second one of us crossed the gate to the final area all of us crashed.

Not sure if it’s the same one or not… but the Charr one I was just in (level 1) was full of dozens of Veterans you had to get through to get to the first gate. No way it could be solo’d. In fact, a group of 5 level 80s had trouble with it, with all the siege equipment firing on you from every angle. Are the NPC Charr supposed to help you? Because they weren’t in the times I’ve tried this one, unless you could get one to get injured by a projectile, then they would.

That is why I always settle for lower levels if I have to, by that one hour you spent searching a party you would have done level 3 already. Crashing obviously is annoying, haven’t happened to me tho.

Using repair canister apparently triggers party crashes in some fractals, this Charr one being one of them, the other apparently is the blizzard map.

Same scenario but two days ago
Spent 2h for nothing
prolly will stop playing the game cause it started to waste my time
first it was with dr and tokens, now its party dc
atleast they could give something except sorry for the incovenience…

2 ways about this fractal.
Hug the left wall, go around the whole outside area avoiding any mobs, get to the wall, hug the wall, get to the gate, kill Dulfy while ignoring/dodging warmachines, destroy warmachines (oil!), destroy gate.
OR.
Stay behind your NPCs (they respawn, too! and push forth faster than enemies respawn), aid them to the gate, have them tank Dulfy for you while you dps her from safe range, continue as above.

It’s easy and soloable, just don’t try to rush it.
