Aquatic Ruins and Solid Oceans need to go away, pronto. By far the most boring fractals and no one wants to do them when they come up in rotation.

Having six dailies (including recommended) is rather silly as there are approximately a dozen fractals. Six dailies means you will repeat every fractal every other day. That’s too painful a grind, too monotonous and repetitive. Let’s face it, most people do fractals for the rewards and not the fun, after a while that is. That being a proven format in MMOs there’s nothing wrong with it per se, but there should be a balance struck. We know MMOs are a grind, we partially enjoy the grind otherwise we wouldn’t play, but repeating six instances every other day misses the mark by a mile.

In my opinion, recs need to go away too and fractal pages redesigned in such a way that they are baked into dailies (the 3 tier dailies) and provide a greater reward the higher you go. At least this way you’ll be repeating fractals every four days instead of two, making it seem like less of a grind, and provide a further incentive for moving up the ladder.

Ideally, you’d want more fractals so it’s less repetitive still, but at the moment this is the easiest way to achieve that end. That said, 21 fractals seems like the sweetspot. Assuming 3 and not six dailies, that’s a one week rotation if you do them every day. It’d still be a grind, just not as apparent.

Also, less mini-games and more interesting fights please. The trek up Chaos/Uncategorized, for instance, while fine and fun the first few times becomes such a chore after a while. Fractals need to be designed always keeping in mind how the user will experience them. If we are to experience them as dailies, gimmicks and mini-games become tedious once you’ve gotten the hang of them, especially if you are to repeat them every… other… day.

You dont have to do the recommended mate.
If you want the reward do em.
Never had problem to get a group for either solid ocean or aquatic ruins so unsure why you have problems

Solid ocean could use a rework it dont have to go away, but dont expect them to rework a underwater fractal how much love have underwater got since release?

They already streamlined it so you dont have to do t1+t2+t3 and then t4 to get all the rewards, asking for more like this post is greedy in my oppinion.

I love having those in the rotation. They are very rewarding for time spent & I still enjoy trying to reduce the times. They are also good introductions to Tier 4, because the mechanics are less involved.

Most veterans don’t bother with the ‘recommended’ fractals, because they aren’t significantly more rewarding than picking a fractal that you enjoy more. Veterans don’t need usually need “just a few” more ordinary or pristine relics and veterans will tend to get a decent amount of ascended gear, without resorting to journal pages.

Let’s face it, most people do fractals for the rewards and not the fun, after a while that is.

They aren’t rewarding enough to do them just for the loot; they are rewarding enough to do them for fun. I’m sure some people do the dailies for just the reward, but I doubt very much if “most” do the scaled three for that reason; there’s just not that much reward.

There are certainly things that I’d like to see changed in fractals, but these aren’t anywhere near the top of my list.

You know, you don’t have to do Fractals every day. I usually do the T4 dailies, but not every day. They take about 40 minutes average, depending on the selection and the group, and I don’t bother doing this every day, especially if I don’t like the pick on a day. I’m not going to do them as a chore, this is a game, not work. If Snowblind is in the dailies and I’m tired of it, I just skip it. If only 1/3 T4 dailies looks like fun that day, I don’t do Fractals at all and spend my time elsewhere.

Don’t let the game or the random generator decide how you spend your time in it.

There are no fractals i wish to see removed, but there are some things I wish to see changed.

*Underground Facility: the two buttons and the controls, this area isnt very friendly to melee classes, if you have too many of these.
*Aquatic Fractal: dolphin path is anarchy at best.
*Molten Duo: skip cutscene, please.
*Mai Trinn: the siege phase is too easy, but too long and boring. Give is us something more challenging, and shorter. The sheer length of this makes a wipe all the more punishing due to time investment. Theres literally no moment in fractals youre safer than during the cannon siege.
*Urban Battleground: In all my years of fractalling and Raiding, have I never survived this encounter. Youre being oneshot from a hundred directions constantly.
*Underground Facility (2): the final boss often launches an agony pulse with a long build-up animation. This requires a double dodge to avoid all ticks, but its not quite clear when he starts channeling the ticks. A clearer animation on this part would be welcome

Fractal dailies are fine, since recommendeds are absolutely optional. Among the fractals themselves, aquatic and solid could certainly use a revamp, though that should focus on solid first (since I can’t imagine the devs can create anything exciting with the kittenty underwater combat). There are some issues in other fractals, but after the changes to swamp and snowblind, I have some faith that they will evetually be fixed.

Only Fractals that I’d love see changed:
Ascalon Fractal, remove the charr adds and rebalance the mobs (lower hit point/damage, better tells and so on) same way you did in Thaumanova, Snowblind, Cliffside and Underground

Underwater Fractal, make the boss more mechanically heavy and interesting to fight, like what you did in Swampland and Snowblind fractals.

Tbh inwouldnt like them to remove any more difficulty from fractals. They already nerfing them with the reworks. If i would chnage something it would be bring the 3fractal island and put them in the “random” fractal option. And allow us to farm it for those who have more time than 40 mims and dislike to afk.

I prefer mechanics over loads of hit points/damage and most of the reworks were about making encounters exciting with mechanics instead of sacks of hp that deal a lot of damage.
