Guild Wars 2

So I was away for a week during the holiday, and missed a large period of the fractal rush. I played the first day it was released, and then not again for 8 days. Now I’m trying to catch up and gain difficulty levels, but it’s nearly impossible. 3 days ago I was stuck at level 1. After 2 days of LFG, I finally got a group and made it to level 2. Earlier today I got lucky and found a group quickly and made it to level 3. Then I logged in tonight, and I was rolled back to level 2…yeah…

So between the gated difficulty levels, the crashing party members, and the rollbacks, how the hell do you progress? I don’t have a consistent group of people to play with, I usually just PUG because of my strange gaming hours. I originally praised this game because of open grouping system, and the flexible classes that allowed anyone to participate in events and dungeons. Now all of that has been erased, and I spend my nights reading chat in Lion’s Arch, just hoping someone else out there is doing the same fractal level as me…

(Also, as a side note – This is why you DON’T release limited time events and content on holidays. Especially a holiday where a large number of people are expected to travel. You alienate a huge part of your playerbase doing this, and probably lose players permanently because they can’t catch back up, or they missed a one-time opportunity.)
