If you’ve done all the Season 2 living story instances you should start with 32 Pact Tyria Mastery Points:

To fully max your Fractal track you need exactly 32 points:

That leaves roughly ~5-5.5 million exp to be accumulated.

The question now is how to attain that exp the fastest. Powerleveling has traditionally been done through:

1. dungeons
2. tomes
3. crafting

They may be nerfing dungeon exp, we were told that tomes probably wouldn’t work, so that leaves crafting if you want to power level your fractal mastery track.

Thoughts? Anyone else going to pursue this track first?

I’m hoping to power through as many fractals as I can this weekend before I return to school.

I’m too broke to afford crafting my way through the fractals mastery line, soo I’m just gonna lag behind and hope my friends don’t have any back pain so they can carry me.
But hey, they’ll have my amazing company! Uhhhh /nervous sweating

Are we absolutely positive that the only way to level up masteries is by aquiring exp? Shouldn’t they rebalance most, uhm, actions in game so that they give more xp or at least a fair amount (fractals should give more than one open world event, shouldn’t they)? It seems like… such a grind O_O

seems to be (un)common knowledge, ive heard this in places too and wouldnt be surprised if im forgetting a livestream or a red post.

Has dungeon xp nerf been confirmed? I know the gold nerf was talked about, and its not far off to assume xp will be nerfed too, but its possible xp will stay the same.

Otherwise, it sucks to have to do this, but pop all your boosters and xp food and head to eotm. You can get 5+ levels an hour when leveling an alt so it should be pretty quick if it doesnt get nerfed.

If they designed the System well, you get enough EXP for the Mastery by leveling your Fractals.

Even if they did that, that would probably mean they’re taking a person completely new to fractals as example, i.e. reward level 1. So we’d have to restart or farm exp regardless.
Except you mean something along the lines of “each unlocked fractal reward level adds EXP to your mastery”, which would be nice but likely isn’t going to happen. lol

For power leveling, I will go at the Mad king Labyrinth with some xp booster. This is the best place for xp. Other than that and crafting, I would say EOTM.

But I will probably not focus on Fractal Mastery first. We don’t know exactly what will give us the fractal mastery, but my guess is that it will help you get more AR. In that case we probably be able to do fractal 51 to 59, even maybe 60-69 with our current AR. In that situation, I’ll probably just do one fractal each day and it will take me more than 2 week to get to 69. So I’ll probably make another track and take fractal in second. But maybe i’m wrong. We’ll see.

To unlock masteries you do the following:

1. Select mastery track on your hero panel.
2. Get enough experience to level your bar.
3. Spend mastey points to reach the next level.

If you finished season two you’ll have enough mastery points for step three but you still have to achieve step 2 at each new tier.
