Wasted 2 hours yesterday running level 38 for all but 1 rare and 2 cores of some-sort when I could of been in Orr or a 5 minute group event for the same amount. I remember when I started fractals in December/January I’d always come out with 3-4 rares or 1-2 rares and Exotic for levels 1-10. I taught then that the higher the level the better the loot but now it seems the opposite, I also suspect that there may be some type of DR that doesn’t reset on chests for each level. For example if I did level 40 for the first time on my account then do it again a week later for a daily the loot won’t be as great as from the first time.

Well its just a concern I had, I’ve always enjoyed fractals and will continue to do so even if the loot sucks but its always nice to have alternative to CoF, mindless Orr farming and the boring pew pew pewing of dragons toes.

BS, they kittened it up about 2 months ago. Before that the loot drop was always awesome. This caused ppl to move away from other areas of the game into fractals. So basically what they did is introduce a heavy dr system to fotm and implement a better loot tables in other areas.

The more I think about it, the less certain I am that this is the case. When fotm first came out, I remember that the Underwater chest would give two rare tridents so often that I thought they were doing it on purpose. I can’t tell you the last time it actually did that. In fact, I can’t tell you the last time I saw a rare “weapon.” That is, the ones that just say their weapon type (Trident, Sword, etc.). . .

As a constant runner of dungeons I can tell you right now that fotm is (one of) the least profitable dungeons to do. This is because of the time taken vs the level of monetary reward. The only reason anyone should set a foot in fotm is for skins and even then you are playing an awful RNG wheel of fortune.

TL:DR-

Fotm is not worth the time if you are just after money.

You guys are right. Don’t care what anyone from the dev team says, they nerfed the kitten out of the FotM loot table. I’m at lvl 42 and used to run all 4 dailies every day. Now its rare if I even do 1 of them. And I haven’t bothered with a 30+ run in weeks. Why do it? There’s no point any more. Greater difficulty without any reward.

Incorrect I can tell you that if you are still in need of 20 slot bags, FoTM is THE MOST PROFITABLE dungeon to run. At lv48 you get 145 tokens, leaving you short 5 tokens of getting a 20 slot bag. This translate to 10g worth in the cost of crafting one. I for one don’t care for invisible or any of those special type of bags as I just need space.

In terms of other loot, the loot in general is just trash. They 100% nerfed the heck out of the Jade Maw chest. This is coming from someone with 2 characters level 65 pre-nerf patch, so I can tell you I ran the hell out of FoTM.

Oh yes… the rare trident thing. I remember joking to the guild that my characters should have an option to throw tridents at people for damage, that’s how nerfed the loot got.

I meant monetary reward in regards to drops. Not savings you could make if you decided to stinge out on larger bags. Besides (as you said), you’ll have all the fotm token bags you need in no time at all and then you are once again wasting your time in fotm unless you’re after skins -.-

It’s been so long since I decked out every alt in bags that I’d forgotten about them T_T

I wasted 3 hours yesterday running a level 48 FOTM for NOTHING..

No cores.. no rares nothing at all but a stack of greens, blues, and whites all worth about 25 silver

Its Nerfed and Anet got what it wanted. i am quitting FOTM from now on i wont bother with it any longer.. no more chasing for the skins.
Goodbye horrible FOTM RNG.

Over 600 runs of FOTM and i have 3 skins ( a mace, longbow, spear ) 27 rings to show for it and 90% of those were BEFOR they Nerfed it lol

RNG is RNG.
Yesterday I did lv48 and first 3 chest gave me some blues and white salvageable.
At Maw I got one exotic warhorn from colossus and 2 exotic trinkets plus one charged Lodestones from chest.

The game’s RNG scans your personal luck level in life and uses that for all rewards. No matter if you win the lottery or not you’re still shi- out of luck!
