hey there,

I have running some fractals recently and I got to level 16 now, but I don’t really know what class is most desired for fractals? I also don’t know what builds are used when the difficulty goes up to 20+

I’ve been playing a warrior with hammer + sword & warhorn (guild build). I don’t know if that’s good or not?

some help could come in handy

Guardians are very desired.
As for the build… I’ll leave all the details up for other people, but it isn’t very good. Sword/Warhorn is used for skipping, Hammer… well, GS is better. Also, you should give us your traits as they make quite the difference.

Strenght: Great Fortitude
Defense: Dogged march, Last stand, and Spiked armour
Tactics: Lung capacity, Empower Allies and Vigorous shouts

That one is a WvW build. It doesn’t bode well with high level fractals. I’ll leave the guidance to many better warriors than me in this sub-forum. One thing I may add is you will need a great sword, an axe and a mace.

^ is a good starting point. In pve you’ll want to use axe mainhand and/or greatsword. Greatsword can be harder to use against certain fractal bosses, so you may sometimes use axe mainhaind for both swaps. Depending on the encounter, you’ll swap between axe/mace, axe/sword, axe/warhorn, and greatsword.

already a lot of comments ^^ I’ll take a look at each build and decide wich one works best for me. I also have a necromancer, an engineer and a thief. (leveling an ele and guardian)

Thief is situationally useful – the blind from black powder is very strong in trash-heavy fractals like cliffside and ascalon. Stealth has it’s uses, although it’s not as manditory since the dredge nerf. Engineer is a solid pug class but it is tricky to play well – I’d stick with thief and warrior unless you feel very confident both with the fractals and with the pve engi playstyle. Necro is best left to pvp game modes.
