What happened to the fractal ascended chest drop rate in the boxes you get from the daily fractals..?

i used to get one at least once or twice a week… and i haven’t gotten any in months now…

You are not the first to have not gotten a chest in months – and certainly won’t be the last. All you are complaining about are RNG hickups. If you wait a bit you may get a week with 4 or more chests and it will all even out.

that research has been dead for over a year now… there is no way its accurate. And its not just RNG that’s not in my favor… there has to be something Arenanet changed in drop rates

RNG will always be RNG. I know it’s easy to blame Anet for your string of bad luck, but nothing has changed with the drop rates, it really is just bad RNG for you. I got two armor boxes (shoulders and boots) Wednesday evening, after reset.

The rates are fine and haven’t changed since last research. Still getting my chests per week.
Yesterday was a big one: I got the endless fractal tonic although nowadays it is not as prestigious as before the vendor patch.

There were three separate stages in ascended chest drop rates.
The original after the fractal update was so horrid that after a lot of complaints it was changed.
The second segment you had ascended chests drop non stop – I’d get 1 or 2 per week constantly.
However after another update the ascended crafting materials and BL chest items have been added to the drop table and the ascended chest drop rates tanked again.

I average 1 ascended chest every 2-3 weeks since that update. Some weeks I’ll get 2 chests, most I get none.

Nothing happened except that your luck is bad.

Tell us exactly how many tier 4 fractals you completed in “months” and we can estimate the odds that you might not have gotten an ascended weapon or armor chest. Without that, it just sounds like bad luck.

Ugh I’m FL 100 and in the time to get to fractal 100 I’ve gotten a total of 1 armor chest and 0 weapons… best drop I’ve gotten in the past 4 weeks of daily t4 and before that 3 weeks of daily t3 is a 20 use ascended salvage kit..

People keep taking side of Anet and “RNG is RNG”: do you have any clue when and how Anet changes drop rates? Don’t think so because Anet does not state this.
It is clear that in certain zones, loot drop for various items is changed from time time.
I wish “RNG was RNG” but when someone can control it, there is always a problem.
I guess state lottery is also RNG by some standards…

You are wrong, Anet does state this!
Anet angered people in the past with stealth changes in fractals so on their last announcement they stated if they ever change fractal loot again they will make it official.

While it’s pretty obvious that gold rewards haven’t changed in a negative way because I get the same numbers every day (6-11g out of encryptions alone) since introduction of T4s like every other mate around me I highly doubt it happened to chests after the last communicated patch.
Look at my post 3 days ago, overall I got 3 chests + endless fractal tonic over the last two weeks which completely fits into the pattern of my fractal past. I’ve never encountered a losing streak of more than one week without a chest since I’ve been playing fracs.

It was in one of their latest AMA which included fractal changes.

Also, I’m far away from being a lucky one – never got a precursor since. The endless tonic is my first “jackpot” in this game after roundabout 4k hours of playing the game. And nowadays you can buy that tonic so it’s less special than before. qq

On the other hand I often saw people getting 2 chests out of a T4 daily run and when running with friends – we all compare our loot – the frequency of chests is like it has been all the time.
If you are really suffering you may have a losing streak but this will end soon.

Not getting a precursor isn’t evidence of bad luck, unless you list all the drops you’ve even gotten that could include a precursor. Some who farms Orr daily is somewhat more likely to get one than someone who sticks to fractals, because there are so many more opportunities (despite each individual drop being less likely to drop a precursor).

It would be like me saying I’ve never won anything from a lottery: while true, it’s a meaningless assertion, since I play maybe 2 times a year with spare change.

It only was an example. I farmed a lot, ran dungeons a lot etc. I just compared myself to the people around me.

Simple thing: I don’t believe in luck accounts, that’s all I’m saying. Pure rng, nothing else.

It’s annoying to read posts from people complaining that drop rates are poor when they show no data or anything related. Every regular fractal runner who is running over months to a year knows that the drop rate is fine. It’s pure psychology, if something positive happens you won’t remember it very long but if it’s negative you’ll keep that in mind and you feel mistreated.
Additionally, you’ll most likely forget used asc chest on your chars. If you don’t use them you’ll see your inventory filling and filling and filling.

Last week: Oh wow I didn’t get anything from fractals. Anet must have nerfed drop rates.

Today: Oh wow I got two Raider’s armor boxes and a zerk accessory in one day. Anet must have buffed drop rates.

I wrote it down, see above. The post exists but you have to search for yourself, that’s not my task.
Sorry to inform you but I am not the one arguing about stealth changes. You haven’t presented any proof or hint that changes were made. You are in duty, not us.

Gotten 1 ascended armour chest from t3 fractals 0 from once i started doing t4s.Junk rings with the odd ecto here and there and now and even done the PvP tracks for the mythical chests = 1 ring to date.Got most of my ascended weapons from guess where HoT collections

I’m still interested in valid arguments and numbers showing exactly that Anet has decreased the fractal chest drop rate after several statements that they will and have increased the drop rate.
It seems to me that you are offended because you don’t understand statistics.

However, I’m fairly new to fractals and found (understandably!) that groups of experienced players don’t take the time to explain fractal mechanics and instead plow through it, leaving me in the dark as to what they’re doing in places such as Thaumanova Reactor.

So, the past few days I decided to learn the basics myself by advertising tier 1 fractals in LFG with the tag “New Players Welcome!”. As it happens, not only was I able to learn how the puzzles and boss mechanics work in most of these fractals, I ended up getting at least 1 ascended ring drop each day.

If I’m getting these in tier 1, I imagine your luck in tier 4 must be substantially better. You must not be running many fractals to end up with nothing at all over months of play.

Nah. If you get one ring per day just from T1 chests, you must have been pretty lucky.

Great idea. I also improved my fractal skills by showing friends/guildies “how to.”

I’ve gotten, I think 3 ascended pieces over the last month or so from fractals. Enough to bring my Guardian alt from 2/6 ascended to 4/6 + a duplicate helm which I made Zerker for a future Ele/Power Reaper build.

Though that did come almost all within a period of about a week and a half, been nothing but rings and trinkets in the 2ish weeks since then (though one was an infused RoRD, so that was a keeper)

It’s just the RNG playing with ya. I’ve also gotten 2 ascended armor chests in as many days gaining ranks in WvW, and that is absolutely something that should never be expected.

I don’t even waste my time with T3. T4 is easy enough if you get a competent group. I’m still getting trash like everlasting tonics, rings, etc. No ascended chests these past 2-3 months.

I prefer it when the drop rate plummet cuz that’s when I actually average at least a chest or more per week. The most recent patch which supposedly made it easier to get them dropped my chances. I get more of the other random trash like ascended mats, gold frac wep, etc. I don’t need any of that. Wish those gold fractal wep can be traded into an NPC for something else. Completed set and not much use.
