The recent AMA with Mike and the part of that discussion regarding changing the current “Swamp of the Mists” situation that fractal dailies are currently in got me thinking and I would like to offer a suggestion how it can be changed.

I am leaving “Daily recommended fractal – Scale x” out of this discussion, and only be making suggestions regarding the “Daily fractal Adept/Veteran/Champion” chests.

- For each difficulty tier, have 4 random fractal dailies, e.g. “Daily Champion fractal scale 66, 70, 75, 93”
- After finishing each fractal of these 4 fractals, you earn a tier-specific token. Thus you can earn up to 4 tokens per day.
- You then convert these tokens into your reward chest at a exchange rate of 3 tokens per chest.

This would mean:
Players who play the current minimum 3 fractals still get a chest daily
Players who play all 4 fractals will get slightly more rewards for their play time (2 and 1/3 extra chests a week)
Players who play 1-2 fractals a day will still get their chest eventually (as opposed to nothing currently)

You then incentivize fractals other than swamp without going back to the old “4 random fractal” system, allows higher rewards for players who play more, but not penalize players who can’t complete the minimum daily fractals.

I really like the idea and your post is more refined then my blatherings in the other forum. However I still think that you shouldn’t know which fractal you’re heading to until you get there in this more difficult mode. Also the instabilities should be random with more instabilities being introduced with this mode.

So here are some new instabilities and a tiny bit of story to go with them. My thoughts are that Mad King Thorn somehow becomes aware of the more dangerous more rewarding testing done by Dessa, and tries to influence them as a person with his own dimension.

Mad King Thorn series
You’re not a ghost! yet
Passing through allies downs them

Why do people call me salty?
Everyone is negatively charged (players are knocked down in opposite directions if they get too close)

Dance!
Dance or perish! (disco ball appears above a random players head every 7 minutes. If they don’t type /dance they get downed)

Why does everyone like Dwayna?
I can give things (randomly receive a boon and condition every so often)

Mad hops
I wish I had a pet rabbit growing up (constantly get stacks similar to frostbite in the elemental core fight that can only be cleansed by jumping.)

I think more light hearted instabilities like Mad Hops would be good, but I can’t think of anymore and typing on a phone is hard.
