So now the “NEW” fractal dungeon is out where everyone and their grandma are run because it has better loot, better balancing, jumping puzzle bla bla bla bla blaaaaa.
As all the old dungeon the one that where to hard for most or impossible to find a party unless you spend 3 hours spamming chat in LA are now even more of a ghost town.

Nice one, you not only made the dungeon near impossible to get a party together for a run unless you in one of those 500+ guild that are all so pro! i keep hearing about. Now you have move most of the player bass from most areas on the map and squished them all into one small town where the chat spam is unbearable good work.

So i would just like to congratulate you on a great job well done, no i mean it nice work now i will never be able get any of the Armour set i was after because implementing a dungeon finder is like selling you soul to the devil “WOW”.

Give it a week or two then people will be back to running everything again. Why dont you run the fractal dungeon if its that much better?

Because i don’t give one kitten about the new dungeon ive been trying to get Arah armor for weeks now it should not be this hard to run a dam dungeon.

Everyone else gives kititens to the new dungeon so just wait. It’s not Anet’s fault. New content is going to generate more attention.

It was a tad hard to find PUGs during the weekend, but I’m starting to see more and more people ask for old dungeons again. However, the main majority asks for FotM. Perhaps a bit more time will even it out.

It is a bit unbalanced in my opinion, why would anyone want to do the older dungeons? The new ones have better loot drops and token rewards. The only reward the old dungeons offer is skin sets.

I do love the new dungeon, but that don’t mean i want to run it all day, i like variety!

The game needs an update for the older dungeons, to make them more appealing.

My guild is actually more often found in AC than in Fractals, with daily CoF runs, and some are planning Arah runs despite the new dungeon… and no, we’re not 500 heads.

The point of the old dungeon was to run then for fun or for the skin that are most appealing to you. Now think the a full set of dungeon skin take like 27 run, right? and say you’re lucky anuth to do one a day most like not. You be lucky if you can do one a week at this rate then that 27 day it get a fall set of armor.

This is pretty much why dungeon are not run anymore to much work to get armor and people are lazy wanting the easy and fastest way to do anything!,
That why the fractal dungeon have react all the old dungeons.

With one character, you can get 180 tokens a day from a dungeon, doing each route once.
This means a ~week of playing 1-2h daily (depends on dungeon, unless you want Arah set, as it’s longer) and getting a full exotic armor set, along with all drops and gold from the dungeons.
If you have more characters, you can speed it up – not even with lv80 characters.

You get full exotic gear except for jewelry (and if you get lucky with recipe drops, that too). On top of that, you get loads of gold (3+g an hour on top of tokens in some dungeons).

Yes, people are oblivious to that, farming Fractals because they are shorter and yield more rares/exotics from chests, and people like instant benefits. No, it’s not the fault of the design.

dungeon loot has been buffed considerably since fractals came out. now, i’m sure some people will just be like “10 moar SIlverS!?!? not enufff!!!” but i’m a very regularly dungeon runner (mainly AC and CM while i’m leveling alts) and have seen my profits almost double (a full gold to a gold and a half instead of 50-75s) for an average dungeon run. bags of wondrous goods + 5/10 s per boss are a huge difference. almost every AC group i’ve been in has fought kholer and troll every time (as opposed to the universal skip, that i myself often voted for, before the drop buff).

in fact, i found the loot rate in the fractals to be much worse than AC. first off, they’re harder right now b/c it’s like PUGing dungeons in week 2 again (we all remember how much fun those were) as the strats are still being worked out (cue the “LOL NEWB I’MA BROPRO” from the peanut gallery), and they don’t have bags of wondrous goods. do they even give you the ~level of xp you get from a 20 minute dungeon path? also the token rate is stupid and i refuse to believe that those prices still make sense when full ascended is available (on the other hand, those 150 token 20-slot bags are pretty tight).

i ran all of AC and CM twice yesterday. yes, a net NEEDS to implement a dungeon finder at this point. it’s utterly asinine that we’re shouting out loud to find each other. arah’s been a pain to find groups for /always/, and now that the 80’s have something new and shiny to play with i’m sure it’s completely deserted.

OP could, always, you know, join one of those 500+ member guilds that should function almost EXACTLY LIKE THE DUNGEON FINDER MOST OF US ARE DEMANDING ANYWAY. but i’m not actually in one of those 500+ guilds so i wouldn’t know, maybe they’re just massive collections of people who don’t run arah.

here’s an idea. we all start a massive guild just called “LFG” and aim to add everyone in the game. that’ll 1.) fix our LFG chat void and 2.) show them that being able to join mulitple guilds is a huge problem for group stability.

That’s why i’ve started a guild focused only on Arah – to make it easier to find people for Arah, who wouldn’t be just random pugs in underleveled masterworks.

All well and good being in a pure arah " substitute dungeon here" guild I’m in 2 but BTW but i sorry to say they just doesn’t work as intentioned. The problem with the entire system is you have to represent the guild to read the guild chat message sent by other player.
pretty much deming the entire think pointless. So now instead of spamming chat in LA or orrh I’m spending my time spamming private message in the guilds to try to form a group. essentially pure one dungeon guilds just don’t work if no one is representing it.

The [Arah] project is meant to help you find an Arah-ready player if you need 1-2 more once you’ve already formed a 3-4 man party of your main guild’s players. Then you just whisper those online and ask if they’re into Arah now. It’s the same as shouting in LA except that you’re guaranteed to get someone Arah-ready, understanding its length, requirements etc.

That said, everyone should have ‘main guild’ they play with all the time, and organise stuff there together. One that you play with whenever you’re online, where you know the people, learn stuff together and do stuff together for fun, even if it’s the long-dead CM that no one really NEEDS, but everyone’s up for some fun.
I got Dungeon Master and 4 dungeon-outfitted toons without ever pugging, and i’m not in a 500man guild either. Just find one that suits you – [Arah] is just an addition to it.

well you see my RL friend are one not high anoh level,l 2 ant on much or on at different time “RL jobs” or 3 i can only play sometime so having a guild which i do but most are never on and the same time unless you have one of these ubber, awesome, special, super, mega, deluxe guilkittenep hearing about their pretty much redundant.

A dungeon finder is pretty must a need now and i don’t care if you say it wreck the community because that bull the community is not formed form spamming LA or player grabbing random plugs from and speed run a dungeon.

No it formed from doing events, DE, story mode, dungeon runs and www with people you enjoying their company and help out with whatever you doing, then you add them to your friend list. So unless you add someone to your friends list ever 10 minutes three is not a endless list of people i and many many other can rely on for dungeon runs.

Guilds are not just RL friends. There are loads of guilds in this forums’ recruitment area, as well as other forums’. Read through a few threads, check out a few guilds’ sites, get into one, check if you feel comfortable there and get the wanted stuff done; if not – thank them for a spot, but carry on somewhere else; if yes – profit!
You really don’t have to ask each random player if they want to be in a guild with you or make your friendlist too long, and you don’t have to rely on pugging, EVER, in this game if you just allow yourself the thought of putting some effort into finding a decent guild that would suit your needs. With hundreds of them out there, surely you’d find one good enough.
It really solves nearly all PvE problems, and possibly all dungeon issues one might have, not counting the obvious bugs.
